Now that I have your attention
I was wondering, what was the first show you saw, where you heard jokes about sex?For me, it was "Threes Company". |

Most likely TC. It's the first show with sex jokes that I understood (at age 7, no less!).

All in the Family, I would think. I was not really allowed to watch it (I was almost a teen when it started OMG--I was SUCH a sheltered only child LOL!), but did manage to see it sometimes.

I'm with Sonny - it had to be All In The Family.
I still call it a "groinacologist"!

Seinfeld. The first episode I saw was The Contest when it originally aired in '92, and I was 8 when I saw it. And I got it all.

I think I've heard/read that The Dick Van Dyke Show actually has the distinction of having the first joke about sex.

I think it was the episode of the Partridge Family where Keith was flunking sex education...and at five I asked what was sex? The first time I was exposed to homosexuality was SOAP and Billy Crystal's Jodie....

I was SURPRISED to see that, because that's not the kind of thing you would hear in an early 60s family sitcom! (of course, maybe they were just talking about adoption or something) *don't look for this scene in the sydnicated reruns on TV LAND or anywhere else. Unfortunately, it's another scene that's been cut out and is only available on DVD. |

The first show that I saw that had sex jokes? Laugh-In, though I didn't know it until many years later. |
