Default John P. and Francis literal brothers?

I always thought that maybe the Father John P. Mulcahy we saw in the pilot was the literal brother of Father Francis Mulcahy in the rest of the series. That John transferred out and Francis took his place at the 4077th. That or maybe Francis was a dream of, say Hawkeye's, as was the idea that Ho John was gfoing to states to stay with Hawk's (actually dead) mother.

Could be. It makes better sense than if it weren't a dream.

It was another actor playing the role. Let's get back to reality.

The first time we see Mulcahy mentioned, Thong, he is John P. Mulcahy! Not Francis Mulcahy. Nothing wrong with the whole ep being a dream sequeance! Or the two priests being literal brothers of each other.

I guess this means that Milton Freedman and Sidney Freeman are brothers, then.

I'm not going to go on and on about this, but there are several inconsistencies in regards to the characters over the course of the series. If you apply the "dream sequence" thing to all of them, then we won't know which episodes are "real" or "imagined."

The main thing that matters is that we all love M*A*S*H.

Well, since the Freedmans are played by the same actor it could be Milton Sydney Freedman or Sydney Milton Freedman.

Here are the dream eps :

1)all the eps when Hawk's mother is still alive (ignore his sarcastic mother alive remarks)

2)The pilot with a different Mulcahy

3) The eps where Hawk's sis exists at all

4)HoJon never existed

5) Neither did Spearchucker (why in the bigoted black ep in late in the show Hawk never mentions Surgeon Spearchucker Jones to that bigoted officer trying to all the blacks out of his company)

6)The ep (or scenes) where Radar is harddrinking and not the Grape Nehi boy

7)The General Flipped at Dawn ep (why Potter looked like Steele)

8)The MASH the Movie was a dream of maybe Radar's
