DVD Shrink is an excellent program and when used in combination with dvd decrypter, they produce excellent copies of DVD's with little noticable loss in quality. The movie industry has thought that they have gotten smart and found out a way stop people from making copies of DVD's and like every obstacle in this world, there is a way around it. The most widely used and newest tactic I have seen is the evidence of a little man running on the screen. If you use DVD shrink and watch the preview while you are shrinking it, some of the DVD's will now have a little man on top of a globe running over and over and then after so long, DVD shrink will say that it encountered an error and can't continue. There is a way to erase the little man though and shrink the movie. If you replace the little man with a still image and then retry to shrink it, you will still see the little man running over and over the whole time but shrink will never encounter an error and your movie will copy and work perfectly. You will never notice the still image when playing the copied disc because it only appears during the coping phase. I have a 100% success rate in coping DVD's and have yet to find a DVD, new or old that won't copy. If you have any problems using this program, just ask me, I can probably find a solution to your problem. It is recommended to get the highest quality copies to first use DVD decrypter to copy the disc to your hard drive, and then use shrink to first fully analyze the disc and then encode it to 4.7 Gb and that will give you the littlest loss of quality.

Are we able to discuss this here, considering copying commercial DVD's is considered illegal unless you are merely making a back-up for yourself. Both DVD Shrink & DVD Decrypter have both been shutdown but I have no doubt that a new program has already been introduced to take their place although I prefer to use DVD Shrink alone.
