Default Jaleel White Hated Playing Mrytle the First Time

I just watched the episode when Mrtyle appears for the first time. I read somewhere that Jaleel hated playing Mrtyle the first time around. He was so embarrased he would cry in his dressing room. His father told the writers and producers no more Mrtyle. That is why Mrtyle did not reappear until season 7. By that time Jaleel White was older and no longer embarrased to play Mrytle.

I don't blame him.He was just a kid.Who in their right mind would like to dress up like a girl at that age?

I don't blame him either especially at that age. He is an excellent actor because you can not tell at all that he was uncomfortable playing the part in fact he looked like he enjoyed it.

I don't think no one can blame. I read that as he got older, he was tired of playing Steve Urkel.

That's pretty interesting. Watching the first Myrtle episode yesterday, I thought that was a lot for a young kid to handle. He should have kept crying in season seven, though, and never brought her back.

I didn't know that, imagine how annoying it would have been if Myrtle stayed for the whole 8 seasons.

I understand how he feels lol!! Because back in middle school I had to dress up like a girl for a school play... That was embarrassing but it sure gained me popularity... not in a bad way though lol!

I wish Myrtle hadn't come back for so many eps though. The 1st reappearance was alright.

I liked the one where she comes back & Eddie does Ballet for some reason, I forgot why.Anyway that one was funny! I also liked how Mrytle & Gretta got into it always. I know this may be a very unpopular opinion... but I actually like Myrtle better than Steve. She was still a nerd... but at least she wasn't making inventions & seemed as smart as Steve!

I thought Myrtle's first appearance in season 2 was funny. I really don't think Myrtle should have come back after that. In season 7 Jaleel was already too big to be playing Urkel so him playing Myrtle was even worse. I must admit however I found the season 8 episode when they all entered the beauty contest Harriette was running pretty funny because of how Myrtle sabotaged everyone. Myra with the green teeth, Laura's heal broke off etc.

The only episodes I like with Myrtle was the episode in which she first appeared in season 2. The beauty contest one in season 8 I only liked because of the way she sabotaged everyone I thought was funny. I just don't care for the rest of the episodes with her in it.
