Towards the third week of May, I received an email from Nmboye@aol.com wanting to get alot of shows from me. In his (her) email, he discribed himself as being "for real" and "I have alot of cash" and "I wont be wasting your time". The person did not have anything I wanted , so I asked for DVD box sets in trade. I wanted one box set at a time , but the person told me that all 4 sets had been bought already on his(her) lunch break and they were going to be sent immediately (May 27).

Well we are the 22nd today, and no package yet. I cant say that this person is a bad trader, but something is definately up with him or her. I dont klnow if it's a male or female either. The only signature I got on the emails was RSVP. A little strange I think, so I thought I would give a heads up to others about this person. I'm pretty sure he saw my list on this group.

Just doing a search on here I find something funny. On the same day he went into like 30 show specific rooms and begged for each individual show in those rooms rather than going to the trading post. I don't think any of the posts are in the trading post. Could this be because people in here would figure out who he is faster than an unsuspecting person in a show room?

i didnt want to be there first one to expose this fraud, seeing as how the last time i exposed one on this board, it wasnt pretty

he also does business as his --cousin--- or his --wife--

various emails, but the same person

he is a seller on ebay and has --the last time i looked--11 negatives in the last 30 days

goes by nmboye

i contacted him for a swap, we worked out a decent sized one

with julia stass--supposedly robs cousin--in this scam anyway

we were to both send, and guess what

i did--he , she. it .them didnt

many excuses, family problems, promisses etc

no box

as a pure lucky chance, another trader on this board was telling me about a seller and guess what, it was the same addy, and robs name turned up this time

so i contact rob this time, and got the EVIL COUSIN story, and he vowed to make good

well about 4 more promised ship dates went by and even a couple tracking numbers--

then a package of stuff came

the worst crap i ever saw

so more emails excuses, sorries, he wanted to make a big deal

i wanted to get even first-- and thats it

so after another while he sent more junk

over half of which i never asked for

conclusion

i kept some of the stuff, and the rest i was going to return at his expense, he kept changeing the tune and i just tossed it in the landfill and put an end to the discussion

i just got two emails from him again today

it was exactly 87 days before i got something, it turned out to be trash for the most part

i listened to numerous lies and stories, all of which were lame

i know of anotehr person on this board who had a problem with this dude, i sent him the phone number and some results came from it, i hope the other guy tells his story, i will not mention his name--its up to him

also another trader i deal with told me a sad story about getting screwed over

i asked whom it was so i may avoid them, guess who, its the wife story this time., this person also is on this site and is in the process of maybe getting something for his efforts, yet to be determined

summary

i sent this scammer 91 discs of good stuff

i got back almost all junk and maybe 30 that i wanted and kept

so im out a bunch of discs, and some time, and the 5 months of messing with it

at least the total loss on my part was under $ 30

another lesson learned


i can tell you for sure that this guy has no intenton of being a honest trader

Anyway, I sent mr whatever his name is a message saying other people have come forward saying that he is a bad trader and shame on him. He sent me and email right back, like one minute later (too bad his shipping isnt as fast). Apparantly my sets are on the way today. Unfortunately when they do get here, I will be obligated to make his tapes, because no matter how I feel about this guy, I can't bring myself to keep something for nothing.

OK well, I just wanted to post a follow up to clear the air.

1. as for the trade, yes i got behind and yes the 4 commercial sets are on the way to the person below and i asked him to post a follow up when they arrive and all is well

2. as for Loren, yes i must admit i dropped the ball on a swap with her. i sent out late and yes i was at fault, and yes she did not like some things i sent to her. i tried to make it right by replacing them with others, and i did send some stuff that she didnt ask for and that was my fault also, i thought it was stuff that she would like b/c it was similar to other stuff she had, and yes it was a total mess of a whole deal... all i can do is apologize, if u look at lorens list there are many good shows that she got from me, bj and the bear, abbot and costello, sci fi theatre, harbor comman, a different world and more all came from me.... its more than just 30 discs she got from me that she was happy with.... i did drop the ball with her and i am sorry, i told her so, and i will publicly state here that i am sorry about it too. i am new and got behind and had a family emergency come up and didnt handle it as well as i should have or been as forthright with it as i should have and for that i am sorry, and i will learn from my mistake, i am not a scammer, and loren got a good amount of good shows from me that she added to her list, and i am sorry that she was not happy with some of the other quality of some others...

so to all who read this, i want you to know that i am human and i make mistakes, and i try to correct them... loren and i are squared away now, we both got a roughly equal # of discs and shows and althoguh there was much unpleasantness on the deal it is over and we both got something out of it,

i have had a family situation that i was dealing with and got behind but that is behind me now and it should be smooth sailing from now on, i just wanted to take a second and clear the air and let everyone know that i am not going to bad mouth loren or anything petty like that
when i am wrong, i am wrong and i admit it and all ican do is try to learn from my mistakes and do better in the days ahead!

ps as for making posts ni the individual shows as opposed to trading posts--- that was just being new! i didnt know it was better to do it that way,i just figurred i would make a post in the category i was looking for to have better luck, thanks!

He who initiates trade sends first - If this motto was followed consistently by traders, we'd have fewer bad trader reports. I wouldn't trade with someone who expected me to send first when I hadn't even initiated the trade.

I rarely approach traders, so the great majority of the time traders contact me initially, and I have only had a couple of traders back off once they realize I won't send at the same time, let alone first.

thats a good rule of thumb for an established and well known person like you

some of us, when we were just starting out, didnt have the luxury of a reputation, and a known name--so we had to send at the same time, or even first --to try and build up our collection and reputation

this is where i have made some stumbles

of course i have progressed to a point where i am established and known , and know pretty much who to trade with


yes i needed to take some shots in the dark to get going, and 3/4 of those shots worked out, unfortunately some of those shots in the dark--didnt

its a good thing that it only costs some discs, some postage, and some time

I have received the 4 dvd box sets as of yesterday, so shaking things up does produce results. Thanks and i will send your 96 hours of shows in 2 or 3 shipments
