Does anybody think Richard Masur should've stayed on the show, or wasn't he a good choice to have as Ann's romantic interest. Wasn't he only on the first season? I wonder why he left so soon?

He really didn't fit in with the show. I think Ann's relationship with him would have gotten old pretty fast.
He was only on the first season but he did guest star on a second season episode. |

As it was explained in the reunion special, Masur's character was eliminated because the producers wanted to focus on Ann's life as a single mother. A love interest would've distracted that.

Personally, I always liked him on it. Ann could have used a voice of reason sometimes!

I liked David, but also liked the show with just Ann, the girls, and Schneider. I understood that the show wanted to go in a different direction, focusing on Ann's career and the girls.
