Since the most important main characters were gone, did anybody think The Waltons ran way too long? Did anybody really care about Aunt Rose and her insane boyfriend? The show was bad with the fake John-Boy, and the show was really lacking when Grandma, Grandpa, Mama, and Daddy Walton were gone.

I think the show did lose its way the last few seasons. Robert Wightman never did have the personality for John-Boy, and it was simply silly the way they had everyone stick around the house when in real life the family (Earl Hamner's) didn't.
The worst episode had to be when they brought Curt back from the dead saying he didn't want to be married anymore because he was emasculated! I wanted to throw up. Linda |

i lost interest in the waltons when will geer/grandpa walton died!
the series went downhill quickly(jumped the shark) after that. the show may have centered around john boy but grandpa walton was the heart & soul of the show. |

That was sooooo stupid. I expect someone coming back from the dead on a soap opera, not a close-knit family drama. When the major players were gone....SO WAS I.
