From "The Book of TV Lists" (1981)
John Ritter lists his 5 favorite current comedy series: 1. Laverne and Shirley 2. Happy Days 3. Mork & Mindy (About the above three, Ritter says, "We all know each other and we like to watch each other's work. It's a lot of fun.") 4. Three's Company ("This one's got some great people in it. I especially like that young good-looking male lead... what's his name?...") 5. M*A*S*H ("The timing and delivery, the writing... it's fabulous.") And three favorites from days gone by: 1. I Spy (1965-1968) ("I never missed it. If I had time, I'd catch the reruns in the afternoon.") 2. The Andy Griffith Show (1960-1968) ("I really liked Don Knotts on this show.") 3. I Married Joan (1952-1955) ("She used to get into some wild screwball situations. It was a real funny show.") I like John's comment about his own show!

Maybe if "Jack" were old enough in the 1950s, his roommates would have been Laverne & Shirley?

Yay - thanks Fleet! That does sound so typical of what John would say (about his own show)!

I knew he liked Happy Days because his good friend Henry Winkler was in it and who couldn't like The Fonz

Oh ya, I remember that. That was the only episode I ever saw. I made an effort because I knew she was going to guest star. She was my first favorite actress ever. lol
