Which sitcoms do you know of that have one or more rather passive male figures, who tend to let themselves get bossed around either by their wives, or women in general, and very rarely standing up for themselves or attempting to argue with them?
The only one I can think of at this moment is Niles, in "Frasier", who was completely dominated by his wife Maris for about the first five seasons. A description in his late mother's journal read that "Niles allows himself to be cowed and dominated by females" and although it turned out that she was in fact writing about her lab rat, and not her son, I think the same description could be applied to the character of Niles - he seems the type to let women push him around. Anyone know of any others? |

Cory Matthews on Boy Meets World, I'd say he was a bit "whipped"

Cliff Huxtable. I can't believe how he always let Claire walk all over him.

No doubt in my mind Niles on Frasier....Al on Married With Children...or did he tolerate her .. Frasier was bossed around by Lillith on Cheers.. and on Friends it was Chandler who was bossed by Monica...who had previously bossed her big brother around before that.
