Just read that the E! entertainment channel will be doing a special on the show that will air on June 21 at 8/7c p.m.

The special is called " I Was a Network TV Star" showcasing A Different World and all the old cast mates are gonna reunite to talk about the show!

Check it out June 21 on E!

Thanks for posting that. I'm gonna have to tape that. Jasmine Guy has aged. She's not as cute as she used to be. Cree Summer has aged a little bit also. She's not that cute anymore either.

Watching this special as I type this. Jasmine Guy, Dawnn Lewis, Kadeem Hardison, Daryl Bell, Ajai Sanders and MISS Debbie Allen reunite for this special. No Lisa Bonet, no Cree Summer.

It's interesting that even most of the cast members say that the first season wasn't so great and they give Debbie Allen props for turning the show around (like I've been saying all along).

They didn't mention Charnele Brown, Lou Myers, Glynn Turman or Sinbad either. Overall, it was a decent special in that it was good to see them all together again. Hopefully, they recorded some commentary for the dvds while they were all together.

I liked the special. The only problem I had was that the special was 30 minutes long. Debbie Allen said that she did not fire anyone but what was the deal with Marisa Tomei?

I'm watching it now and what I see so far I like. This is what a retrospective should look like.

I enjoyed it as well but I wish Charnele, Lou, Cree, Glynn and Sinbad were there too. LOL, I can't believe Ron O'Neal tried to hit on Jasmine.

Oh and Gina is still FINE after all these years.

Dag! I hate not having cable! And since yesterday was my birthday, that would've been a nice present to have seen that show. Oh, well.

I wonder if someone taped it.

Once again, didn't see the show, but I have a feeling Debbie Allen was hired after Lisa Bonet and Marisa Tomei were fired.

And don't expect Lisa to show up on any of these specials since she wants nothing to do with anything TCS/ADW-related anymore, sadly, but not surprisingly.

Does anyone know if the E channel is gonna show a rerun of this reunion? I missed it last night because my mom changed the damn channel after i had already left her a note on the tv saying don't change the channel because i had the vcr set to record it. The special was only 30 minutes? That sucks. I thought it was a hour. Lisa Bonet is a weirdo & i wouldn't expect her to show up on a tv show reunion that she was a part of.

I missed it too because I don't have cable either Did they mention Cree Summer? I didn't know Marissa Tomei was fired from ADW. I thought she left to focus more on doing movies.

A Cree scene was shown but she wasn't really mentioned. They briefly mentioned Jada. The people who were there talked about how Debbie took over and made the show special, that the first season wasn't focused, like it was another version of Square Pegs. Kadeem mentioned his favorite episode was Cats In The Cradle. There was a brief mention of the moms (Patti LaBelle and Diahann Carroll). Jasmine mentioned something about Ron O'Neal asking her to work on their lines at night, hitting on her. They mentioned guest stars like Halle Berry, Tisha Campbell, Dean Cain, Gary Dourdan. Phylicia Rashad was featured also. It was a lot that they didn't get around to, so it could've definitely been an hour, if not longer.

Halle Berry & Tisha Campbell were on the show? I don't remember that.

Halle Berry played a character that Ron met.

Tisha Campbell played an HIV+ student. Whoopi Goldberg was on that same episode.
