Lifetime aired the segment today... she was brutally murdered(muiltated) in 1989 or 1990 after she talked to someone named "Alice" about being her roommate. Was this "Alice" person ever caught? The case was very strange. What was with the guy dressing like a woman and setting up the rental car in London???

It took them years to catch "Alice", but they finally did. This link is very informative http://www.courttv.com/archive/press/chameleon.html

About 20 pages back on the forum, they talk about her.
At the end of the segment (I watched today also) she was apprehended for some sort of fraud...IIRC. Apparently, she commited suicide in 2002 after police found her location and were going to take her in for questioning. It sucks, because the murder was so brutal and violent... ![]() When they were doing the reenactments of Alice, she was pretty scary. Also, apparently the male with the black wig that might of had a connection to Alice was...Alice. Sounds weird. Today's eps were scary. The one about the satanic rituals (which may or may not of happened) was scary...*shivers* |

I was really interested in this story, too, and wished they had gone into greater detail. The man dressed as a woman seemed so random. I am glad they got "Alice" though!

Keep your eye on Court TV. They show a primetime documentary on Elaine Parent every few months. It's on their "Investigators" show (which used to be called "The System") and the episode is titled "The Chameleon." There's something about the way they tell the story that makes it all very creepy...she was a very disturbed person to say the least. Poor Beverly. "Alice" and the man in the wig are the same person. |

Thanks for the heads up about Court TV, I'll have to keep an eye out when this program airs again. Alice is not only disturbed, but depraved to have killed Beverly the way she did, its beyond words. |

I guess it's just a dim reminder of the crazy world we live in - killing a person is bad enough, but to actually chop their head off? Why go to such extra lenghts to be so brutal? I mean, when you're dead, you're dead. And all for $1,000. Sheesh.
Much like the Dennis Depue segment, you feel some sense of relief knowing that the case is solved but you're not completely satisfied because they killed themselves instead of rotting the rest of their miserable lives away in jail - which is what SHOULD have happened to them. |

This crime was indeed heinous. When Stack described the manner inwhich she had died I couldn't believe it, it sounded so brutal and sensless.

It's a shame she committed suicide really... the electric chair would have been perfect for her.
