Barbara Walters recently caught hell for her remarks made on, The View. She told a story of a woman sitting next to her on a plane, breastfeeding her baby. I guess the woman didn't have a blanket partially covering up. It was all hanging out.
Shortly after, about 200 nursing mothers protested outside The View's ABC Studio. They call themselves 'Lactivists', lol. What's your take on breastfeeding in public? Does it make you uncomfortable if the woman next to you does it or is it a-okay with you. Answer the poll question please. |

Personally, I don't like it. If you're covered up completely, or you do it discreetly in the ladies room or something, then okay I guess. But they make breast pumps for a reason...use them if you're gonna be on a plane or public where everyone is looking.

I don't have a problem with it at all. All the women that I've seen breastfeeding in public have had a blanket or an article of clothing concealing the breast and baby's head. Breastfeeding is a normal, natural thing and there are bound to be certain instances where a baby needs to be fed and the mother may not have anything within easy reach to cover it up. If I was on a plane or wherever I would rather see part of a breast than hear a screaming, hungry baby.

I guess it's all right, but it's better to have a blanket over.

If its an ugly mother, then no.
I kid. I kid. I think it's okay, as long as it's done discreetly. |

I do not think it is appropriate under any circumstances.

I don't care, I'd probably just laugh. I wouldn't do it, though.

Either way, I don't care. You don't see a lot of breastfeeding mothers 'round these parts here. If I was in a big city like NYC where you would see this type of thing more often, it still wouldn't bother me. Just as long as it's done discreetly, it's alright.

A kid's gotta eat... I mean come on, we've all seen boobs before at one time or another (except maybe webwarrior), it's not like the mother is voluntarily flashing her parts to everyone.

i'd rather they do it in the ladies' room, but if the kid MUST be fed right then, go ahead as long as you cover it up.
