Lightbulb Enough is enough already!

First, I want to welcome the new members over the last couple of weeks - I'm glad to have you here!

A few things:

1) Treat others like you want to be treated

2) If you don't have something nice to say to somebody, don't say it all! (I know you've all heard that forever but it's easy to forget)

3) You don't have to agree with everybody on everything, you are entitled to your own opinion - but please don't say someone's dumb because they think a certain way. You should respect someone's opinion even if you don't think the same way..

Thank you,TJ.We should always remember that we should respect others' opinions without necessarily agreeing.

And here is my opinion about Laverne and Shirley. At first it was a great show, always fun and with an air of optomism throughout all the hastles the girls would get into.It also showed that friends and room-mates should respect each other and help each other. The show might have been running out of ideas when the gang moved to California. It might have been better if Marshall had retired his entire group of shows in 1980- but the siren of success leads the unwary to the rocks of overexposure and/or burnout.

I'll admit, most of the CA episodes can't hold a candle to the Milwaukee ones. However, in my opinion, the first season in CA was hilarious. In the first CA episode, they were in an earthquake and met Rhonda ("Rhonda Lee. Actress, model, dancer" "Shirley Feeney. Irish, Protestant, Democrat" "Laverne De Fazio. Italian, Catholic, teamster"). Lenny and Squiggy went on the Dating Game ("Bachelor #2 [Lenny] what's the most romantic word you can think of?" "Lint" "Lint?" "Haven't you ever been in love?" "OH, THAT lint!".... "Bachelor #3 [Squiggy] if you could invent a machine to make me fall in love with you, what would it be?" "A lawnmower"). Laverne got drunk off chocolate on her first day as a gift wrapper ("Let's take a trip Shirl! We never travel anymore! Let's go to Chad! Nobody ever goes to Chad anymore!".... "Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than the locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound! Look! Up in the air! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's HILDEBRAND!" "Mr. HILDEBRAND! How we love to announce you!".... "This department is in Shambles!" "Is that near Chad? We wanted to go to Chad!"). After a while, though, they did sort of get pretty bad, with a few good episodes, like Perfidy in Blue. After Shirley left, there weren't any good episodes and the show shoud have ended after Shirley got married... and she should have married Carmine.

------------------
"Well, Laverne is sort of childish"

"Childish? Childish? COming from a grown woman who throws tea parties for her stuffed cat!"

"Well at least I don't sew L's on everything I wear!"

"Well that would be pretty stupid considering your name's Shirley!"

Yup, Perfidy in Blue was one of the good california shows, along with I Do I Dont, To Tell The Truth, The Dating Game, and several others. After Shirley it was nothing- its like "Laverne and Herself" How can a show about a single thirty year old whose only friends left were her dad, squigg and an actress next door last? And they didnt even talk about Shirley after she left with ::gag gasp choke:: walter!

------------------
Lenny: Ya wanna escort us over to Angelos house?
Shirley- Whats happening over at Angelo's house?
Squiggy- It's burnin' down.
Shirley- Well Where;s Angelo?
Lenny- Awe, when he took one look at that fire he moved.

They talked about her once!! In the one with Squendolyn, Laverne tries to teach her the walk Shirley did for Carmine. And at the party, Carmine said something about Shirl, but I don't remember what.

He was there at the party with Squendolyn and this girl walked by and asked him to dance, he had to say he was there with someone and turned her down. Then he threw a glass of wine at his face and mumbled "I thought those days were over when Shirley got married"
