Default That's Life

That's Life
ABC Sitcom

This sitcom stars Christopher Meloni and Nicollette Sheridan as Mike and Donna Philipps, high school sweethearts who have remained married ever since and are the proud parents (sometimes) of their two kids. The thing is Mike and Donna graduated from high school June 1983, married October 1983, and had their oldest child April 1984. Mike and Donna have two kids: 21-year-old Jesse (Jesse Soffer) and 19-year-old Kenzie (Kaley Cuoco). Jesse took two years off to "find himself" (meaning-he went to California, surfed, met babes, and have fun) before he entered himself in as a freshman at Grace Augustine Community College-which just so happens to be where Kenzie is attending college also as a freshman. Mike is a paramedic/EMT as Donna is a real estate agent. Both Jesse and Kenzie are jobless going into college, yet will definitely not leave college jobless, by their parents' request. Kenzie is not really that thrilled to have her brother be in some of her same classes, yet discovers the perks of having Jesse in some of her classes. Also, how will the Philipps family react to the news of Donna's surprising new pregnancy? Another "opps baby" by Mike and Donna?

CAST:
Christopher Meloni as Mike Philipps
Nicollette Sheridan as Donna Philipps
Jesse Soffer as Jesse Philipps
Kaley Cuoco as Kenzie Philipps

Default Episodes

Episodes

Ep1:Pilot Episode:
Donna learns she is pregnant again. Donna tells Mike, Jesse, and Kenzie the news of her surprise pregnancy. After a day of thinking about it, Mike and Donna are sort of happy as the kids are not too thrilled. Meanwhile, Jesse and Kenzie attend college orientation, and learn they are in some of the same classes.

Ep2: California Dreamin':
Jesse wishes he was back in California, after learning his Current Lit professor is a feministic bitch. Kenzie and her friend, Brooke (Megan Fox) go to the mall, where they bump into their former high school History teacher-Mr. Welch (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) who they each have had crushes on since the beginning of high school.

Ep3: Savin' Lives:
Mike and his fellow EMTs saved the life of an elderly and wealthy woman, who now wants to give each of the EMTs a reward. They reluctantly accept the reward until they learn it is ten times more than they first thought. Meanwhile, Donna tells her boss, who happens to be her maternal aunt, Darlene (Dolly Parton) about her pregnancy.

Ep4: Dating New People:
Jesse begins to date a hottie in his (and Kenzie's) Psychology class, until he finds out that she is friends with Kenzie too-which perplexes the situation. Meanwhile, Donna's slightly older sister, Melanie (Heather Locklear) pays a visit after hearing about the pregnancy, yet she has her own surprising news as well---she left her workaholic hubby of 6 years, after learning he is sterile and is wrecking her chances of having a baby someday.

Ep5: Pristine Christine:
Christine Miller (Elisa Donavan) is a 20-something girl in Kenzie and Jesse's Marketing class, who gets on both their nerves due to the fact that she is very prissy. Yet that does annoy Jesse yet not enough for him not to go out on a date with her-which makes Kenzie irate. Christine and Jesse (both old enough) have a bit too much to drink and spend the night at Christine's apartment. Kenzie hears what happens and is even more enraged at both Jesse and Christine.

Ep6: Small Celebrations:
Mike and Donna go out to celebrate Donna being pregnant for 3 months now and to celebrate their 22nd wedding anniversary. Jesse learns his night with Christine was just an one night stand, nothing more. Kenzie is relieved that Christine wants nothing to do with Jesse anymore, until she learns Jesse is secretly hurt.

Ep7: Happy Halloween:
Mike and Donna, dressed as Elvis and Priscilla Presley, go to a costume party, where they bump into the very annoyingly optimistic couple that no one can stand and end up getting roped into going out with them sometime. Kenzie, Brooke, and Jesse attend a different costume party at a frat house. Kenzie is dressed like "Beach Barbie", Brooke is dressed like "The Playboy Bunny", and Jesse is dressed like " a white Allen Iverson".

Ep8: Runnin' On Empty:
Kenzie has a emotional breakdown in one of her classes (which Jesse and Brooke are in also). Kenzie cracked under all the pressure and stress of college. Kenzie begs and bribes her friend and brother into not spreading word of her breakdown to her parents. Brooke and Jesse contemplate breaking their promise to Kenzie, after seeing how Kenzie really does need her parents' help. Meanwhile, Donna becomes angry with Mike for being an hour late for their doctor appointment (for the baby).

Ep9: Breakin' The Promise:
Brooke and Jesse break their promise to Kenzie and inform Mike and Donna about her several emotional breakdown. At first, Kenzie feels betrayed and being attacked by her family and Brooke, yet comes to her senses and has a long, overdue emotional sit-down chat with her parents (mostly Donna)--who confesses she had several of her own breakdowns when she found out she was pregnant with Jesse way back when.

Ep10: Wandering Women:
Donna, Kenzie, Brooke, and Donna's boss/aunt Darlene (Dolly Parton) decide to have a women-only weekend, yet get lost while driving to their destination. Plus, the women's cell phones don't work, because no reception. The four wandering women find help in one ruggedly yet hunky stranger, Tony (Antonio Banderas). Meanwhile, Mike and Jesse try to enjoy their womanless weekend, yet keep getting interrupted by their obnoxious neighbors, Gary and Jean (David Hyde Pierce, Cynthia Stevenson) who won't stop bugging them with their annoying antics.
