Yeah - we watched it live. Pathetic.

What a weird and dismall end to a career. The crowd was evening throwing stuff at him as he left the arena.

I was going to mention it earlier, but when I didn't see a post, I figured nobody cared!

I was just thinking that he is one celebrity who did actually go to jail.

I didn't see the fight, but it sounds like it was funny, I plan on watching the rerun on showtime.

Hey - its a wonder he didn't go to a nuthouse!!

And yeah, at first when he was getting pummelled it was funny, but in a sense maddening to the fans who had paid. He said he had no heart coming into it even. For this he gets $5M????? No heart? Come on!

What goes 'round come 'round Mikey. You made your bed now you have to lie in it (cuz basically that $5M is already earmarked for debts).

Mike Tyson is another example of a someone who had it all...talent, a beautiful wife, fame and fortune...and he blew it all.

That, and Don King and other supposed "friends" stole a lot of it from him.

I'm not defending him - but I really don't think he had the intelligence and definitely had mental issues with no one to really be able to rely on for advice and protection - that's how he got involved with King in the first place.

Bottom line though, had he not committed the crimes to go to jail, he maybe could have made a half decent career for himself, but he blew it early on.

I had a bad feeling going into this fight, and wasn't at all surprised that Tyson quit. I'm not going to knock him for that though. Only people who have boxed, can know what it's like in that ring. I remember a couple years ago when Andrew Golota quit in the middle of his fight verses Tyson, and how everybody called him a quitter, and put him down. It turned out that Golota had some very serious injuries, and could have been permanantely injured had he continued. So until I'm in Mike's shoes, I refuse to put him down for that.

I just hope he can get his life together, and doesn't screw it up anymore than he already has. He seemed to be much better mentally this year, as I think the losses have humbled him. Hopefully he'll be able to continue to get better mentally, and live a somewhat normal life from here on out.

I'm just sad that I'm never going to get to see him fight James Toney. Toney's my favorite boxer, and Iv'e always wanted to see those two controversial fighters face off. Oh well.
