Is Columbia House any good? Any reviews for it?

It's alright, I guess. I've had two problems with them - they ripped me out of money when I paid via snail mail. Don't do snail mail with CH.

I use Columbia House right now to get The Carol Burnett Show DVD's. The great thing about CH is, they present the episodes to you uncut and remastered, so they sound and look really great. It gets expensive, though - my first TCBS DVD from them was like $7.94 and every month after that, you pay $22.94. There are days when I seriously consider stopping the DVD's from coming to my house but then I think about the fact TCBS will most likely never be released on DVD as season sets and that's what keeps me going. There are 40 volumes altogether for the TCBS set - I got my 18th volume not long ago, so I get my 19th one next month.

It's not too bad. It actually costs the same for all the other TV DVD's CH carries.

I never did get my Vol. 12 DVD from CH but I'm in luck since they often have Vol. 12 on eBay

Default Carol Burnett show would be cool . . . .

On the Colum. House Carol Burnett Show dvd's, .. .. how many episodes do you get on each dvd??? One episode? Two? If there's only one episode per dvd @ around 22 dollars, that would be a pretty expensive episode, wouldn't it??? It would be great to see the Carol Burnett Show as they originally aired, though. I used to watch this show when it was originally on TV and I hated it when they "chopped up" the original episodes into half an hour slots called "Carol Burnett and Friends." I would prefer to see the episodes as they originally aired.

Their customer service is anything but...they suck. Stay away. That and they're overpriced.

I don't know anything about their customer service because I never had to call them about anything. They do charge a lot of money for their products but that's the thing, they offer products that nobody else offers. I subscibed to their Wild Wild West dvd club. Since WWW is not available anywhere else, it's either buy from them or nothing, basically. It was interesting over the weekend I noticed that C.H. advertised on TVLand for their I love Lucy dvd's when TV Land was showing two I Love Lucy episodes. I thought to myself, why would somebody buy the Lucy dvd's from C.H. when you could buy the season sets at the store? Now in that case it wouldn't seem to make much sense. But in the case of things like WWW or the Carol Burnett show that aren't available in the store, it's either pay what they charge or do without.

I had the final straw with CH. As of today, I am no longer a member. Oh well, who cares?

What happened????? Honestly, I have to admit that I've never had any problems with them. But then again I've never had to call in to their customer service either.

They charged me 2x in June for the DVD's, and that was not in my agreement with CH. There's more to the story, but that was my final straw with them. If they tried screwing me over a 3rd time, that would be my final straw. They screwed me over the 3rd time the other day, so I terminated my membership.

By the way, I had no problems with their customer service when I called in to cancel my membership. I hear people complain about CH's CS department, but I really had no problems at all last night. They asked for my CH acct #, name & address. The guy I got connected to was pretty nice too.
