In the early 1990's, a legendary TV show was born. "Barney And Friends" showed Prince that there is room for more than one "purple one". Evoking a sense of coolness, being more popular with parents than their kids, Barney became a rock icon and Barneymania was the biggest thing since Beatlemania.

Why he will get in: He was the biggest thing since The Beatles. People from 1 1/2 to 95 watched his show and bought his records. Critics loved him and he won tons of Grammys, proving that dinosaurs rock.

Why he won't get in: He's a puppet! But you know, that might not prevent Jennifer Lopez from getting in. The Hall hates people who got their start on television. He's not even a human, but a dinosaur, there might be some specie prejudice with humans looking down on talking, singing dinosaurs.
