Ok, they just showed the segment of Oded Gordon today, about an autistic man who was staying at some type of home and wandered off into the woods and has never been seen since. When I searched the board for his name, I got a bunch of threads about Gordon Page, another autistic man who wandered off and hasn't been seen. My question is, are these the same men? Their cases seem way too similar (and their names as well) to be different. Has anyone seen the Gordon Page segment?

Yes, I've seen both so they are different cases. As far as physical appearance, Gordon Page Jr. was a redhead and slim and Oded Gordon was a little heavier set with black hair and a mustache. They definitely have similarities as they were both diagnosed as autistic I believe and both wandered off from a group home. There is a little info about about Gordon Page on the net but I haven't found anything about Oded Gordon. It seems like someone came forward a few years ago claiming they may have spotted Gordon Page Jr. but I believe it wasn't confirmed by anyone.

Watched the Oded Gordon S03 segment, and it's definitely one of the most poignant stories I've seen on this series. OG was an autistic young man in NH, who wandered off from a group home in 1989. He was never seen again by any family members. On the show, the mother was pleading with him to get in touch with her. But, as far as I can tell - the case is still unsolved.
It looks like Gordon got a ride (by hitchhiking) not far from the group home. And, was later positively identified by someone (who claimed to have given him a ride in MA) on the day he disappeared. Unlike a lot of the segments on this show, it's obvious that this case didn't involve any criminal activity or anything suspicious - re: his disappearance. I suspect that someone with OG's disability may not be able to just "blend into society" easily, so I wonder if he ended up homeless?! If he's still alive, he'd be in his early 50's. Haven't seen the Gordon Page Jr. segment, but I'm sure I'll get to it at some point. |
