TV LAND is the stupidest Cable Network on this planet. Acquiring Shows that will be or near complete on DVD. Well so much for hoping it was One Day at a Time. This Stinks

While I'm glad that a show like WH is finally returning to the airwaves, I really wish TV Land would pick up more of the obscurities that may not be released on DVD after all.

Exactly, I will have all seasons of What's Happening UNCUT in my video Library so why the hell would I turn to see WH on TVLAND? Maybe TV LAND should pick up That's My Mama in the Spring of 2007-LOL

Maybe to watch their lovely twenty commercials in a 30 minute slot? Maybe it is the charm of the squashed end credits that you can't see?

Not everyone buys the DVDs. And TV Land brings in a whole load of new fans to a show, that would probably have never seen the show.

I'm sure there are many who have not seen or remember much of What's Happening. I haven't seen it on TV for 15 or more years.

I like owning shows on DVD, but there is no denying there is something great about catching a good episode of a TV show you love on TV while flipping through the channels.

I agree with that. I still do that all the time with Three's Company and I'm sure I'll do it when Good Times airs.

As for What's Happening, I would have been really excited if the dvds weren't already available. I remember a couple of years ago when I saw the commercial for the first season dvd released through Time-Life, I was very excited because I hadn't seen the show in years. So I would probably be just as excited about it airing on TV Land if I didn't own the dvds.

I just think that shows that do not have dvd releases should be more of a priority. Sure, not everyone buys dvd's, but at least they are available for everyone. There are plenty of shows ie One Day At A Time, that are totally unavailable to the public. It seems that TVland waits for a show to be released on DVD first before aquiring it.

Maybe WH was a cheaper purchase for TV Land since there were only three season. Shows that are screaming for a TV Land revival like One Day at a Time and Alice ran for 9 years each I think...not that TV Land buys whole seasons anyway.

They should also purchase the one season of One In A Million with Shirley and show it as an "unofficial" fourth season.
