From what I have read and heard and seen of Susan Saint James (Kate), before Kate and Allie, she was a very 'big star' in the USA, starring in many movies and dramas with stars such as Rock Hudson and George Hamilton. But, it seems that after Kate and Allie, she quit acting. Does the USA still remember her? In Europe, she is not as well known, but my question is to you guys - Does American TV still refer to her? Have she ever had ' a biography' or 'an interview with'; as its seems that it is very odd for somebody who was so famous for so long to be forgotten about, even though she was still on TV a few years ago. Even Jane Curtin (Allie) of 3rd Rock does'nt mention her in interviews! Please answer my question AMERICA!!!!!!

PS - is it true that for years she was known as 'TV's cutie - Susie St James'?

Susan left acting after the show ended in 1989 to raise her children in Connecticut. (She suffered a miscarriage during K&A, and later had difficult pregnancies.) There was a "Where Are They Now?" feature in the local paper a couple of days ago, and it said that Susan occasionally does local theater roles close to her home in Connecticut.

Susan St. James has disappeared from the TV landscape.
Too bad. She was great. |

Two weeks ago Susan was featured on Lifetime's Intimate Portrait. Very well done.

Anyone know if they'll be re-running the Susan St. James IP? Did they ever do one for Jane Curtin?

I heard that Lifetime Network will be replaying the Susan Saint James Intimate Portrait again on Thursday December 19 at 6 or 7 pm.
Hopefully that is true. Unfortunately I don't think we get Lifetime Network up here in Canada. Did anyone happen to tape it last time? |

Well, I checked the info for IP tomorrow, and it does indeed say it is the Susan Saint James one. But, when I was watching Golden Girls tonight, at the end credits of that show, it said they would be showing the Loretta Lynn one...? Anyone know for sure? I won't be home at that time tomorrow, but luckily I will be able to tape it, although I'm not sure if I should bother if it might not be the one...anyway, if anyone has info, please post...otherwise, I'll let you know what I decide to do...

Nope, turned out to be the Lorette Lynn IP tonight...it was plastered all over their website, and advertised every half hour since yesterday on Lifetime...I wonder why they would have showed that one, when they were scheduling SSJ's...hmm, oh well...

So, it was loretta Lynn after all.... that is odd. I wonder why they would promote two different ones for the same time slot. I'm sure the loretta Lynn one was fine, but disappointing if you were looking for the SSJ one, like I was.
Maybe next time. |
