Can anyone help with a song heard on AD?
Does anyone know the title and artist of the song played in the episode 'Leaders of the Pack', Season 3 of American Dreams?
It was played in the background of the scene where Roxanne and Meg are at Bandstand infront of the make up mirrors talking about how Roxanne's mother is remarrying and moving with her new fiance. The next scene straight after that is Dick Clark introducing the group The Who. I've checked the music guides of a few sites but it seemed to have gone unnoticed. The artist is female. Can anyone help? |

Unfortunately I only heard the song in the background but the music to the song has a similar feel and sound as 'Where Did Our Love Go?' by The Supremes (even the intro sounded similar), I'm curious now as to whether it is from the Motown label. The artist is definately female.
The lyrics I heard is only sung by a single person but I'm not completely sure if it is solo or group. These are the only lyrics I was able to catch clearly since Roxanne and Meg were talking over it. Lyrics: Honey, Honey, Don't turn your back on me We'll be good for each other ???,...do all this to me. ???,...you want to be free, we are better together... |

The following website has episode guides (and other good stuff) for all three seasons of American Dreams. I think it has a list of all the music for each episode. Scroll down the "Main Menu" and pick whichever year you want to search.

Yes, the website is still available, but it takes time to load. I tried it out just now and was able to link to the program guides with no problems. I've printed them as a guide to my videotaped episodes of American Dreams, just in case they pull the plug on the site. Good luck!

The song doesn't seem to be listed there ADSupporter but thanks for posting that up for me to check, I still wasn't able to get into that site for some reason.
Thanks for searching for me AD FAN, the song is quite mysterious...I'm starting to wonder if maybe it was just a tune they made up to play in the background and the song doesn't really exist. |

If you have the Season 1 DVD set, they use the same song in the episode "Pryor Knowledge". I think there was a different song in that particular scene when the show originally aired on TV in 2002. So maybe it is a made-up song that was cheaper for the producers to stick in the scene to save licensing fees on the DVD set.... But I was sure I'd heard that song before, maybe on the XM or something.
Will keep trying to figure it out!! |

Thanks blue I appreciate it. I've just realised that this song was played in another episode in Season 3 titled "Charade", however the song was very very faint in the background but played for a longer time.
The scene is when Shelly Pierce and Helen Pryor are at the kitchen table and Shelly mentions that she works as a Playboy Playmate. Unfortunately again there is no mention of this song in any of the music guides of most of the AD websites. |
