The Girl Next Door
I saw this movie on HBO earlier today, and I think it's a real travesty that this, which has the "classic" teen movie feel, seemed to crash and burn and go nowhere when released a year ago, while family-friendly Duff-fests did very well.
Definately the best "teen movie" I've seen since American Pie. But it's a shame that todays 17 year old teen filmgoers would much rather see Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen, New York Minute or A Cinderella Story over a film like this, which embodies the type of teen movies we grew up with in the 80's, and had a minor resurgence with about 5 years ago with American Pie. Emile Hirsch is a definate rising star, I've heard he was fantastic in Imaginary Heroes. |
