Default Anybody else having problems with the postal service?

It's been over two weeks since two people mailed out packages to send to me, one from Pennsylvania, and one from Washington. Both packages were bulky and heavy (the one from WA definately weighed a lot), however, while they were mailed out on May 17th and 18th, this is June 5th and I still have as of yesterday received them in the mail.

I spoke about it to a friend, and she too, has yet to receive a package mailed out her way around 2 weeks ago herself.

So, is there some strike going on with the postal service, or is media mail just really slow if the package weighs more than 5 lbs? (both packages were DVD's for the website I review for. One being someone who accidentally received a title for me, and was sending me that plus one other title they had a duplicate of, and the other was a former reviewer sending me all of his unreviewed titles). I have had to wait before, but never this damn long. The worst I've dealt with before was 2 weeks and a day, this is going on 3 weeks.

So does anyone know if USPS is having some slow-down problems right now?

My mother mailed a card to my cousin in the next town over on Wednesday, and she hasn't gotten it yet. It usually takes a day!

I moved a week ago to the next town and I am slowly just starting to get mail. The post office told me it takes a week to 10 days! That's crazy.

I got my report card the day after it was sent and my thank you notes arrived the next day so I'd say it's ok here.

I haven't been having any trouble. My dad is a mail man, so I think the Postal Service just hates you. Things are fine here, and there is no strike or anything of that sort that I know of.

The PO can't go on strike. Against the law.

And yes, media mail can take a long time, especially if it's pretty heavy. Media mail will take longer than even Parcel Post, which can be 6-10 days itself.

Haven't had any problems... I still get the usual garbage on time.

TV Guide came today. That's about the only thing worth my time.
