Default Ever been through natural disasters?

Has anyoneever brrn in a natural disaster? Like fires, earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, hurricans, etc. Fire season is already here and we had few fires, but they were far, and been through earthquakes. Hopefully we won't go into any natural disasters or man made disasters.

There's tornadoes here all the time. Every year we have at least one or two big ones somewhere around here.

I was in a flood on my 7th birthday. Its a day I won't forget. Also had a few Hurricanes come close but It was a tropical storm before it hit anyplace I was.

Yep... I'm 300 miles inland but we get tropical systems normally every year. Only the big hurricanes that are moving quickly pack a punch when they get here, but the weaker systems are nothing to ignore. We had a depression(actually the remnants) pass TWO-HUNDRED miles west in 2003 and had squalls with 40-50 mph gusts and power outages. Frances last year gave us 50 mph gusts and a 2-hour outage and Ivan gave up 60-70 mph gusts and a whole day without power.

Worst storm by far was Opal in 1995. Still had sustained winds of 70-80 mph with gusts to 100 mph when it rolled JUST west of here. Middle of the night... tons of trees and powerlines everywhere. Was over in 4 hours(that's why it was so strong, it was booking at 25 mph from landfall).

I have never experienced a tornado, but have experienced a number of tornado warnings and "possible" tornadoes(rotation, but nothing on the ground) as well as hail and flooding(although I've never lived in a flood plain), areas very close to here flooded a couple of years back really bad. That was the flood of the century.

Also survived the "Storm of the Century" in 1993. A foot of snow and I don't know how long without power.

Never have experienced a quake or volcano(don't have the latter here and the former is VERY unusual). I slept through the biggest quake here in 50 years two years ago... centered about 150 miles north. Only a 4.9, but by Alabama standards that's pretty big. I'd like to experience a small one one day, but I'll pass on the big ones.

Yes, the 1971 San Fernando/Sylmar earthquake (6.6 magnitude) and the 1994 Northridge earthquake (6.7 magnitude). Luckily both of those happened in the early morning (6:01 AM for the '71 and 4:31 AM for the '94) so I was at home both times.
The September, 1970 wildfire, which burned from Newhall to the the ocean (Malibu) was not too far away from my house- about 6 or 7 miles at its closest.

Not really a natural disaster, but the Santa Ana winds in my area can whip up to 80 mph (74 mph is considered hurricane-force winds).

And there are floods and flooding in certain cities and districts but not where I live (I live on a hill).

I've been through one F5 tornado in May of 1985 that pretty much leveled the town. Also Ohio usully gets one or two hurricane remnants every year, nothing serious just alot of rain and some wind, but nothing to cause damage.

We've had quite a few tornados around here over the years. I can't count the times we had to take cover in the basement.

Yep, tornados all the time. Hell there was one that crippled Ft. Worth during rush hour and that one came near us, and somehow my mom made it home just in time. She was driving home from Dallas. Another time there was a huge hail storm that killed some people during MayFest.

When I was little, I was at my aunt's house on Cape Cod and Hurricane Bonnie hit us pretty bad.
