Default Damon Wayans talks about show axing

Found a brief article on Damon by the Arizona Daily Star where he talks about his return to stand-up and feelings on the show being canceled.

Here's the part about MWAK being canceled.....

Wayan's return to stand-up comes on the heels of ABC cancelling his sitcom, "My Wife and Kids", in mid-May. Wayans wasn't surprised by the decision from ABC President Steve McPherson.

"They lied to us. Steve McPherson looked us in the eyes and said, 'You guys are definately coming back. Go work on your shows.'Then we get the call," Wayans said, sounding more defiant than angry.

"That's what I love about doing stand-up: I'm not going to get canceled, unless I cancel myself. These guys gotta make their decision for whatever corporate reasons. It's never been about me and my show over there."

That explains the cliffhanger ending.

But I still feel that the show staged its own death. Is there any source where the actors or producers can tell us their views on MWAK's CREATIVE development?

At least he wasn't naive(sp?) He recognized that it was never about him or show. It's all about business. When it comes to ABC and other networks, that's all they care about. Alot of good shows were canceled this season.
