Default To me, the funniest thing Fred said to Esther was....

.....on Sanford. Not Sanford and Son. He dissed her left and right on S & S, but this particular episode of Sanford he knocked me back.

Esther wanted to move in, and Fred said no. Esther told Fed that that was her sister's home too and she could stay where she want to. Fred said, "Your sister died over 20 years ago, won't you go stay with her!" I dropped dead laughing when he said that! LOL Only Redd Foxx could think of something like that.

I'd post the line I'm thinking of, but when I did in another thread I was accused of being a racist so why bother discussing if I'm going to be slandered down the line!

I'm still trying to figure out how I can be a racist if I'm quoting a line from Fred Sanford??????

Say it. What did you say and who accused you of being a racist?

Well actually I'm still waiting for a reply if the accusation was meant towards me, but it was posted directly under my post so I'm assuming Mr. Monitor meant it for me.

I just used Fred's famous "gorilla cookies" line to describe the second Vivian on Fresh Prince. It certainly wasn't meant to be racist and I figured with it coming from Red Foxx is was o.k.. I've also had many friends of colour over the years who've used it as well as other Sanford lines. I guess I just don't think of it as of the 5 best friends I've had in my lifetime, 3 were black and 1 was Mulatto. I've also dated other colours. It's just not an issue for me. If it were, why would I enjoy Sanford & Son, Cosby, Fresh Prince, etc., Will Smith as one of my favourite actors and have a quote from Jimi Hendrix in my avatar.

UPDATE: - All's straightened out on the other thread and we're cool - no hard feelings!
If they did mean me, I'll apologize if they were offended, but it certainly wasn't mean in a racist tone (and I'm offended at the accusation - I'm anything but a racist - and I find the term extreme).

Anyway, to me, it was when he was saying that to Esther - that he'll use her face as a mould to make "gorilla cookies" - I thought it was funny.

"this funeral is hers can't you tell"-LOL

My favorite along with "she looks like the part of the polaroid you tear off (dated reference but still damn funny). But maybe that one wasn't directed to Esther. I think he was talking to Melvin too. Oh well.

I liked the look Fred gave Esther in the Circus episode when Esther asked Fred what she was supposed to do with the new supplies she bought for the Circus.

Or my favorite was when Fred came back from his trip in St. Louis and gave Esther plastic wrapper as a gift:
Esther: "This is just a clear piece of plastic"
Fred: "No it's not, hold it up to your face"
<Esther puts the plastic wrap up to her face>
Fred: "It's your Halloween mask!"

No Fred wasn't talking about Esther when he said that. I can't remember who he wasn't talking about.

Here is one I just thought of:

Esther: (Dusting the wall) "poor wall, I don't when the last time you've ben dusted."

Fred: "Poor wall, it's a good thing you ain't got no eyes, that way you can't see who talking to you!"
