Default What James would have done......

......if he was in that scene when Michael and Florida went to confront the junoir warlords?

when they got robbed at gunpoint by Shirley from What's Happening and the ugly girl who played her sister?

If he would have caught Willona's ex-husband Ray pushing up on Thelma?

When Penny's mom barged in on the Evans?

Would he approve of Keith?

If he seen Keith slapped Thelma?

I always wondered what would James would do if he was around when these things happened? Tell me, y'all, what would he have done?

In the Warlord Situation, James would have done the same thing he did when J.J was roughed up in the Hallway.

In the Robbery Situation, James probably would have done the same thing he did when Cleatus had a Gun

There wouldn't have been a such thing as Penny's Mother if James never left the Show.

I would have liked to have seen his reaction when Thelma was trying to marry Ibe.

I don't see why not. They still could have that 4-parter even if John Amos hadn't left the show.

Did You forget that the Only reason Penny was even added to the Show was because the Mother and Father was gone? So if James and Florida was still on the show why would they have added PENNY?????

Maybe the ol' "no more cute kids because they're all growing up, so we need to add somebody" syndrome?
Anyway, When I first read "There wouldn't have been a such thing as Penny's Mother if James never left the Show", I thought you meant because he'd "take care of her", that sort of thing.
Which would have been interesting to see!

Good point. Lots of sitcoms add younger children like Andrew (Family Ties), Olivia (Cosbv Show), Chrissy (Growing Pains), Nicky (Fresh Prince of Bel Air), etc.

to bring in more kids to the family tv show.

more kids to watch, more likely the show will be on for a little while longer.

Adding kids to a show has never kept it on the air for more than a year. It's Pointless

I never liked when they brought on kids to "liven a show up". To me, all it did was make it more boring.(i.e. Stephie on AITF, the red headed kid on "Diff'rent Strokes", etc.) It would be better to broaden the characters already ON the show, such as what was done on CHEERS and MASH. Those are the shows that got "deeper" because the characters we already knew deepened. Just my opin-i-on.

Default What would have happened.

James would have still died, with all the added stress of Penny, Keith, raising a family and Michael being a junior Warlord, he'd have a heart attack.

......if he was in that scene when Michael and Florida went to confront the junoir warlords?

At least one of those boys would have been savagely beaten within an inch of his life.

when they got robbed at gunpoint by Shirley from What's Happening and the ugly girl who played her sister?

I don't think he'd hit a woman, therefore, I don't think he'd do much. I do think Florida and Thelma would have a woman-to-woman type dialogue and talk themselves out of being robbed and/or shot.

If he would have caught Willona's ex-husband Ray pushing up on Thelma?

Backhand him, then throw him down the elevator shaft. Okay, throw him down a flight of stairs.

When Penny's mom barged in on the Evans?

He would yell, but again I think he would give the floor to Florida.

Would he approve of Keith?

see answer below...

If he seen Keith slapped Thelma?

He would first smash Keith's head with the bottle of alcohol he hid in the toilet, then James would toss Keith around the apartment (you know, like breaking lamps and knocking chairs over) before first kicking his soul out of his body, culminating with a deadly arsenal of kicks that eventually decapitate him.

I always wondered what would James would do if he was around when these things happened? Tell me, y'all, what would he have done?
