ok, put aside the gripes on the previous annoyed thread. i have a different one. i have a bunch on tv shows on DVD, quite a few movies, and a few other things.
so far, The Andy Griffith Show season 1 is the only thing i have that acts up in my DVD player. it freezes out of the blue. it plays fine, then from no where it starts skipping and the stops. sometimes, it barely makes it to the menu until it freezes. it happened on every disc in season 1. now, i get season 2, and i'm about ten minutes into the first episode and it happens on this set. any ideas other than a TAGS botched up series of discs? is it a Paramopunt manufacturing problem? anybody else having this problem? nothing else does any of this, just my TAGS's. |

Take it right back to the store and they'll replace it.
I have Season I and it works find - no problems at all so you've got a klinker. We've had others that did that freezing, but took them back to the store and they replaced it no questions asked. |

are you sure? i mean, with these being the only two DVD's i have from PARAMOUNT made me wonder if it was a PARAMOUNT thing, and not just a random bad disc set.
well, on tv DVD's that is. it just makes me wonder if they are all like that, and replacing them would just get me the same mess. |

Well, all I know is that I got mine for Christmas and its been fine - no problems at all with any of the disks. That's why all I can see is that it's just bad luck and a defective disk or two.
N.B. - the others we had problems with weren't from Paramount either - I think it happens in the manufacturing process. Have you tried cleaning the disks at all? I know when we opened our McCartney Back In The U.S. DVD the disks looked like milk had been spilled on them and my husband wanted to return them right away, but I washed them gentley and they played fine. |

"The Dick Van Dyke Show" season 5 had similar problems when it first came out. They even set up an 800 number you could call to get your replacement set. That was Image Entertainment. I don't know if Paramount has something similar, but it is worth looking into.

There are not any widespread problems being reported with TAGS DVDs. More than likely, it's a bad set that can (and should) easily be exchanged.
