I found it boring. I'm suspecting there will be a big dropoff next week. Still... that's a lot better than I was expecting.

Its the one I chose (over that stupid Ashton thing about Geeks). Probably a big reason for the good ratings - there was just nothing else on at 9 last night!
It wasn't bad - yea, maybe a little boring but it was kinda fun seeing Holyfield out there - and he wasn't too bad considering he's a heavyweight boxer!!! It could certainly hold his own on a regular dancefloor! I'd like to take a bazooka to the judges tho! Especially that snobby British guy <bitch slaps the old geezer > |

A good sign is that the show built in its second half hour -- meaning viewers liked what they saw. The first episode reairs again Sunday at 7pm.

I've never heard of her before (don't watch the soapies), but I thought he was going to throw her right across the dancefloor like that judge said!! She was waaay too tiny and light for her partner!I knew "Peterman" would ham it up good though! And was actually fairly impressed with Rachel Hunter's performance!! For a big tall girl, she did look quite graceful - considering she'd been hugging the Porcelain God all night long beforehand!

I saw it, it wasn't too bad. I thought it was going to be cheesy. It is not something I would watch often, only if there was nothing else on, and last night, not much was on.

Episode 2 grew from episode 1. ABC has yet another hit!
“Dancing with the Stars” (9:00-10:00 p.m.) Surging from its solid lead-in and gaining audience throughout its telecast, ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” was again a dominant No. 1 in its time period. From 9:00-10:00 p.m., “Dancing with the Stars” beat its closest competition by 7.2 million viewers (14.9 million vs. 7.7 million - NBC) and by 96% among Adults 18-49 (4.7/14 vs. 2.4/7 - CBS). * “Dancing with the Stars” stood as the No. 1 TV show of the night across all relevant demographic categories, including Total Viewers, Adults 25-54, Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens 12-17 and Kids 2-11. * Growing from its week-earlier debut telecast by 1.4 million viewers and by 9% among Adults 18-49, the second airing of “Dancing with the Stars” drew ABC’s largest summertime audience in the time period since September 1995, nearly 10 years ago (since 9/13/95). The show matched ABC’s strongest Adult 18-49 performance in the hour during a summer frame in close to 6 years (9/1/99). |

Impressive.
I bet we see this back in the Fall or at Mid-Season. If the rumored Alias pushback to January is true, then they could have another season for a few weeks then(November Sweeps anyone?). If it got anywhere close to those numbers, it'd be a competitive 2nd behind Survivor. |

The finale was huge last night. 21.8 million average. 14.0/23 rating and a 6.5 adult 18-49 rating. The 9:30pm half hour had 23.5 million viewers. I'm sure we'll see this again in November or the winter.

WASN'T SHE???!!! My husband sat down just as she was to go on last night (its the first he's watched any of it) and she blew his mind! Mine too! She really did deserve to win it! John O'Hurley was very good from the beginning, but to think she came from not being able to handle spins to that - wow! Good job. And I stuck it out and ended up enjoying the whole series. I'll tune in again if and when they do a second "season". Quite the surprise hit! (I'd like to hear what JT would say about her now too) |
