anyone remember the episode that made reference to a great spy working for the British who was codenamed Nimrod?
Hogan hatched a plan where he had the Germans wondering if Klink was really Nimrod, but then at the end of the episode the REAL Nimrod left some rocket plans along with a note asking Hogan to smuggle them out of camp.
It was implied, of course, that someone close by and recognizable to viewers was Nimrod...
I know that fans are very familiar with this episode because I've had discussions with fan clubs who have speculated about it. Of course, it's not real...it was just a plot device, but wouldn't it have been cool if, on the day the camp was liberated, Hogan found out that Schultz was Nimrod?
Well, it probably would have been someone in a high level position within the German Army to be such an effective spy. So, of the characters we know, Gen. Burkhalter is the logical choice for me. First, if you think about it, Burkhalter was always bringing sensitive missions, people, plans, etc. to Stalag 13 (why???) and putting that great bunglar Klink in charge (why???) with the inevitable result that Hogan could blow them up, smuggle them out of Germany, etc. Also, he knew Klink was a total incompetent, but he left him in charge of Stalag 13-- so that Hogan could continue his operation?
