Default Release Is Intact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buy season five tomorrow or whenever in my case, rest assured! The release is intact. In 1955, the behind-the-scenes crew (producers, etc.), discovered that the episode was 3 minutes short! So they filled the final 3 minute time slot with a lengthy 3 minute promo for "Guys and Dolls"! Unfortunately CBS DVD couldnt get MGM's "permission" to show this clip. So every original LUCY minute is there. So what the Guys and Dolls spot isnt there, we bought Lucy!

I got season 5 on the 16th & it's great. If you don't have it already, go out & get it. It has a few color pictures on the last disc in the 5th season "Behind-the-Scenes" feature. The pics are from "Lucy Goes to Scotland", BTW. It also has an interesting audio interview with Jess Oppenheimer, with rare pictures from "My Favorite Husband", Lucy's radio show.

... can't wait to get this. I have to finish off season four first though, and then when I get season 5, I'll try to get the slim season 1 as well.

I'm currently up to the episode, "LA At Last", which I'll watch today.

I bought season 5 at Sam's Club today but haven't watched any of it yet. I noticed that Sam's Club website is selling seasons 1-5 as a single box set. I didn't see the 5 season set in the store, however.

It seems premature to be doing this. I think a better plan would be to wait for all 7 seasons to be released, then do a complete series box set. You can see the Sam's Club set here:

Seems like someone is asleep at the switch and unaware that ILL had 6 seasons. Went to several different online stores with the same item.

Oops, was ILL only 6 seasons? I always thought the Connecticut episodes were a season by themselves (not counting LDCH). Of course I also didn't know until recently that the Hollywood episodes continued into season 5

BTW, if anyone didn't know (reading TV DVD Fan's post reminded me of this), there might be a re-release of Season 4 since there was some deleted footage in most of the episodes that wasn't included on the DVDs. Once I get more information about a re-release from Gregg Oppenheimer, I'll post it here.

That's too bad, 'cause I'm not rebuying it again.

Where'd you hear of this info? Geez, I wish CBS DVD/Paramount would make up their minds already about the Lucy DVDs, it isn't fair to the fans/buyers!

I got the info from Gregg Oppenheimer. He told me CBS/Paramount only seems to tackle one Lucy project at a time & that there would be more info on a re-release of Season 4 very soon.
