I think that a season 12 would have been too much. The show was already declining so it was nice to leave it the way that they did. Besides, if they did want to continue Happy Days in some way I think there best bet would have been to do another spin-off.

Default just wanted to see what people thought

i can think of story lines that could have been used but i don't think they would have been strong so maybe it was good that it ended

I don't think it would have been a success with ratings, but I'd definitely watch if there was another season or another spin-off

The show should have ended when Ronnie Howard quit....it certainly did for ME ( The only post Richie shows i watched were the first 2 of the next season and the finale )

I am currently getting season 10, where most of the episodes are hard for me to get through.

So that would definely be a no for season 12. I find when I really start to lose interest is at the beginning of season 9; the two-parter where Joannie is showing home movies.

Even though seasons 8, 9, 10 and 11 all had their good moments, the show was just frankly well past it's prime and it was definately time to go when it ended in 1984. There wasn't much left to do during a 12th season. Plus, Happy Days ending in 1984 (as did Three's Company and One Day At A Time) probably worked in the long run because it allowed one television era to close, while the Cosby/NBC era really exploded in 1984.

As much as I love the later seasons, ending when it did was probably for the better.

Season 12 would have focused on Fonzie and his new adopted son, Danny. That's why that storyline was created, just in case there was a 12th season.

I have to disagree with the comment about the home movies episode from season 9 -- that's one of my favorite post-Richie episodes.

Season 12 would have been unnecessary, Joanie abd Chachi were married, Richie was married and gone, it was time for the show to end.

It really should've ended once Richie and Ralph left the show.

I agree. I actually think the Ted McGinley/Cathy Silvers seasons were pretty good, but it wasn't Happy Days. They should've changed the name to accomidate the new cast/new Arnolds/lack of Richie and Ralph ala Archie Bunkers Place/Golden Palace. I think the latter episodes would've been better accepted if it didn't have the "Happy Days" moniker, because seasons 8-11 weren't half bad, I think they were better than 6 and 7, but it wasn't "Happy Days" without Ron Howard

I think the show ended at the right time. I still felt the show was enjoyable but theirs no sense in overstaying your welcome.

I wish it could have done something in which Fonzie gets married and settles down.
