What is your favorite DVD Release Company?
My #1 Favorite is a tie Between Anchor Bay and Warner Brothers Because they both seem to present their releases very well and alot of my favorites are out by them I like all the other ones equally (besides sony) and here's why: BV- BMW, The GG, Home Improvement Fox- Family Guy A&E- Ellen UW- TCS Paramount- Cheers, Fraiser Even though i have a number of Sony Releases (Seinfeld,TKOQ, MWC, NewsRadio, and WTB) I Hate their guts. they suck at putting together dvds besides seinfeld and news radio so far and it takes them forever to continue thier releases. ugh.

SONY PICTURES!!!! they have most of my favorites already out MWC...seinfeld...King of Queens....Who's The Boss....The Nanny...Mad About You.......even the jeff foxworthy show!.....now only if they would release The Naked Truth!
My second pick would have to be Paramount because of Frasier & Cheers..... third is fox, for bringing out mash, simpsons & dark angel... |

Hmm...Fox. Their extras on the Simpsons and Futurama sets ruled.
Universal is the enemy. They've been releasing some of the greatest shows lately, but with no extras whatsoever, and their interactive menus lack something. Plus the Quincy and Dragnet sets had the same 3 ads at the beginning of disc one. But I don't see them getting any better in the future. |

Sony in terms of their programmes and sometimes good extras, although sometimes the picture quality isn't too good compared to others like Warner and Fox.

Shout Factory are awesome. They did an excellent job with Here's Lucy and Freaks & Geeks. Anchor Bay did an equally fine job with Three's Company and I am glad they are the ones doing Roseanne. These smaller companies put the bigwigs like Sony and Paramount to shame. Rarely are there any extras on sets from those two. Well among the sets I've purchased so far anyway.

I prefer Sony, A&E, Anchor Bay, and Paramount because the majority of the TV shows that they release are put on single sided discs and placed in slim amaray cases. Warner, Buena Vista, and Fox like to use double sided discs, for the most part, which I hate. Both Warner and Buena Vista (most of their more recent titles) use cardboard, fold-out packaging as a cost-saving device, but it's pretty crappy in my book. Warner, though, does usually offer "rental ready" packaging to select retailers and rental stores, but Buena Vista doesn't... Damn them!!

Oh Anchor Bay for sure. 21 Jump Street, Doogie Howser, Hunter, Silk Stalkings, The Greatest American Hero!
...and of course my personal favorite SLEDGE HAMMER (if that wasn't obvious enough!)! |
