Default List Alternate Endings to the Series - Good or Bad

This thread is to give some ideas of how the series could have ended. Whether you like your ideas or not, feel free to post them. The only thing is that it takes place at the end of the 11th season. You can only change the finale, not any of the other episodes.

Idea # 1. "Hawkeye's Awaking Revelations"

The series finale finds Hawkeye waking up in a straight jacket. He's informed that the death of Henry Blake caused him to go insane. Everything from seasons 4 thru 11 was all just part of Hawkeye's dream. The War ended shortly after the "Abyssinia, Henry" episode. Hawkeye even mentions how in his mind he turned the crazy General (played by Harry Morgan) into Blake's replacement. Hawkeye feels better and leaves the mental hospital. He's out on the street and runs into two guys, BJ and Winchester. He goes over to them and of course, they don't know who he is, because they are not really BJ and Winchester.

Definatley not the ending I'd choose. But the idea came to me, so I posted it.

Idea # 2. "One Half Korea, One Half America"

This idea would be that the first hour is the crew still in Korea. They find out the war is over and all say their goodbyes. The second hour takes a look into what the characters do at home.

Idea # 3. "The Book Ending"

(Almost like the Roseanne ending) The war is over. Everybody goes home. In the final scene, Hawkeye is sitting in a chair at his house. Suddenly Henry Blake enters. "Hawkeye, why'd you kill me off, early in the novel?" The show was a book of Hawkeye's.

I hated the Roseanne ending, but the chance of having Henry Blake in the final scene alive and well seemed humorous.

Please everyone join in and come up with some weird or normal alternate endings to the TV series "M*A*S*H".

a good ending would have been, they somehow find out that Henry Blake is still alive, and marooned on an island somewhere. They thought he was dead because the Army assumed he was and told the 4077.

Default M*A*S*H thrash

ok just for fun,m im going to write an "over the top" ending for the Mashers:

The war ends and:
> Hawkeye- Goes back to Maine, just in time to be elected mayor of Crabapple Cove ( Ran on campaign of his war record ), is almost immediately recalled for putting whoopie cushions on the town councellor's chairs at the first meeting of his term!
> BJ- Finding that his "loyal" wife had left him for a banker, he re-enlists in the army and finally winds up as the commander of a MASH in vietnam, later marries a Thai pleasure girl from Bangkok . In 1970, he moves back to San-Fran , becomes a hippy, and now lives as a multimillionaire selling his " BJs Naturally flavoured gin"...based on a recipe he learned from "an old army buddy"
> Hot Lips- After trying her hand at civilian nursing, Margaret decides to return to the only life she ever knew, the army, in 1958, posted in Germany, she takes a quick trip to Sweden for a secret operation, today, she's known as General Donald Hempley
> Potter goes back to Missouri, divorces his wife, moves in with "Sophie" < get your minds outta the gutter!
> Charles- Goes back to Boston, is given the Rhode Island by his parents for his 40th birthday, today he resides in Jolliette Fed prison on tax evasion charges
> Klinger- In 1960, Klinger dyes his hair light brown and goes on the road in his new musical theatre career under his new name, Barbara Streisand ( He's very successful, even today.... just dont remind him of Yentl )
> Rizzo- Decides to stay in the army, was last seen in 1967 sleeping under a Jeep, as usual
THE END

You can't end the show with the idea that the serious MASH eps were a dream or a novel. The funnier MASH eps (or at least a few of them) could be dreams though.
