When you sing..

1. Always sing from your stomach. Never sing with just your throat, or it won't be that good.
2. Always keep your head straight forward.
3. If you're trying to reach a high note, don't lift your head up. (That's what most people do)
4. Same thing when you're doing a low note. Don't bend your head down. Keep your head straight.

Also to add..

5. Don't get tense at all. The more you're tense, your voice is going to sound horrible.
6. Make sure to always practice and do scales.

Well, if you have a good voice, what's there to worry about? Don't worry though, I know how you feel. I have a good voice too, but I HATE singing in front of people by myself. You could try pretending that the audience isn't even there so you can feel more comfortable.

If you want more confidence, try singing in front of people more often so you can feel more comfortable. That's all I can think of.

Just some things I've learned over the years in chorus.

- When reaching high notes, put more weight onto your toes. Build up to the high notes. Think HIGHER than the note, so you wont come out flat.
- Do not allow your stomach to collapse when singing. Make use of your diaphragm.
- Do not raise your shoulders when taking a breath. It probably means you're breathing TOO much.
- Stand in a "singing position." Back straight. Head forward. Legs a bit apart [shoulder with], but not too much. Arms hanging by your side. Do not lock your knees. Loosen up. Don't be tense.
- Put your jaw in a north-south position, not east-west. (Make believe there is an egg inside your mouth. Sounds silly? But it works. )
- Practice.

And most important of all...

- Sing from the heart. Be one with the song.

Hope that helps.
