I currently have a Sharp 3 cd and dual tape stereo system. However, this system has been giving nothing but problems since it was purchased about five and a half years ago. First the CD's wouldn't play during the first two years of the warranty(luckiliy an extended warranty was purchased and the problem was taken care of). However, the problem perked up again last year and my father repaired the cd problem. It is now sounding better but the tape deck has problems of its own. One day I put a tape in the deck and couldn't take it out. I pried it open and the deck opened and closed. This problem has happened about three or four more times and the tapes don't play anymore. I am fed up with this problem and thought that the heads were dirty but I cleaned them yesterday and the tapes still don't play. Are there any other good brands besides Sharp to consider. I am currently considering a Panasonic model for $149 with MP3/CD playback and dual tape deck. This system has definitely run its course.
