Ok then, say it!

The reason is the all time stretch of comic credibility, I always found it pretty unrealistic. Wanted to get some other opinions.

He probably had a boner or something like that, but anyway it would really help if you could specify when this happend.

Yes - supposedly Sam popped a boner when Rebecca was "seducing" him at Melville's.

I can't dispute it's credibility since I'm not a guy, but I've seen the same sort of thing used on other shows - Spin City for one when Mike asks "for a minute" before getting up.

I don't think it's a case of that they physically can't get up, its more because they don't want it noticed!

And since we're on the topic, when George went swimming in the cold lake on Seinfeld, I was like Elaine - first I had ever heard of shrinkage!!

Amazing little appendage those things - better than Stretch Armstrong!

But yes, Rebecca is whispering to Sam all the things she's going to do to him. She gets up to leave and he says "Could you just give me a minute?" Someone finally told me he is "aroused", and I'm like, so? Never stopped me from walking around, unless you're packing socks no one is going to notice.

They did the same thing on a friend's ep, where Ross asks for a second, and starts whispering "Gramma gramma" or something like that. At least he looked down though. But I always thought it was a stupid stretch of the imagination.

Oh no - it isn't!! I've personally (and gratefully I might add) witnessed the odd "whoops" in my day and I must say its been a blast each time! And another thing - we know about it when we're dancing with you guys too.......and we like it!

Yup - remember the friends and one that had me on the floor laughing was an ep of Mad About You when Paul tries Viagra for the heck of it and ends up having to walk the streets of New York with Ira to find Jamie who ends up on the lookout at the Empire State Building. Now Paul's walking so there's not much he can do about it and they're crowded streets. He even runs into Jerry Seinfeld on the street and chases after him with Jerry freaking! It's a hilarious episode!

Might be a "stretch" (no pun intended), but they are sitcoms and everyday things are played for laughs all the time.

I know this may sound silly, but was it Jerry from "Seinfeld" or Jerry as "himself"?
