Two more old UM segments have crossed my mind. The first was an Uneplained Death case about a man who I believe was named Tom. He was a biker type guy who was heavily into motor cycles. Several shirts, some that advertised bike companies, were found in his abandoned suitcase(or something like that) along with survival equipment. The supposed cuase of death was a drug overdose. I recall this aired in the 93 part of the 92-93 season, but I can't remember many details about this one like I can about others.
Another segment was from the small Sci-Med about a series of events involving a rare medical condition that can cause a fatal heart attack. One man fell asleep on his couch when he came home from something one night and never woke up again. Another instence was a guy who had such an attack during a dance at his high school. What are the dates and places of these stories? If you can remember, thanks. They are now showing the early 90's segments again so I may see these in reruns. |

Yes, I remember those too well. Although I don't remember the dates and places but I have them on tape so I can look them up if you want me to. The guys' name was Tom Roche and I do know there was an update that said they found some bones that dna tests confirmed did belong to him. I remember people in his apartment complex saw him talking to a man the day he disappeared but they didn't seem to be arguing. Also remember his live in girlfriend received a letter from the killer. I think it contained some of Tom's personal effects so she would know it was legitimate. I tried to read part of the letter because they showed the original one in the segment, but you can't see much. It was strange.
The second one I thought was really interesting and I can't ever remember it being discussed on here. It was the Santos family and they lived in California. Several people in the family, the father, 3 or 4 sons, a daughter and a grandson all died of some mysterious heart ailment. I would be very interested in an update as you would think with all today's advances they have discovered what it was. I think it would be very hard to find an update on it though. Hope that helps! |

Yeah, do look up the date/place info in the Tom Roche case.
As far as the other case goes, i see a segment on the episode guide that mentions a rare medical condition of an Oakland, Ca family. Oakland is not all that far from me as I am in the south SF bay area and Oakland is in the easy bay. Find out when that happened since I already know the place. Thanks, maybe they will show reruns soon so I can tape them. Do you tape full episodes or just certain episode segments? |

Hey! Well I usually just tape certain segments but I do have several complete NBC episodes on tape as well.
Ok, Tom Roche went missing from Burbank, CA on September 13, 1991. The letter that police think the killer sent contained Tom's drivers license and the earring he was wearing when he went missing. I was always curious if the killer ever gave a motive in the letter. As for the Santos story, the husband Francisco Santos died in 1960 in Guam. The wife, Dontello, then moved to Yuba City, Ca. In 1981 Doris Santos died, in 1983 Ronnie Santos died, in 1984 Frank Santos died, in 1987 Ralph Santos died and in 1991 the teenager Frank Santos Jr. died. They all died before the age of 45. |
