Question Is 2005-2006 KOQ's last season?

I found this article in Variety.com. Sounds like the show is going to wrap up in 2006.

On the hunt for 'Monster'

'King' James rules over Sony's family film

By MICHAEL FLEMING

Sony Pictures Entertainment has set Kevin James to star in "Monster Hunter," a big-scale live-action family adventure being written by Robert L. Baird and Daniel Gerson, scripters of "Monsters, Inc." and "Curious George."
Overbrook Entertainment partners Will Smith and James Lassiter will produce the pic, which is an outgrowth of the relationship they and the studio developed with James when he starred alongside Smith in the Overbrook-produced Columbia Pictures hit "Hitch."

The film will be the first big star vehicle for James when he completes his eighth and final season of the hit CBS sitcom "King of Queens."

He'll play a child psychologist who can actually see the monsters that torment kids from closets and under beds. He uses that skill to vanquish the beasts until he meets a particularly nasty one.

"Since the moment we wrapped 'Hitch,' we've been looking for the right way to get back in business with this team," said Col co-prexy of production Doug Belgrad, who'll oversee the project with Jonathan Kadin.

Once he has completed his series run, the standup comic-turned TV star will concentrate on making movies, including the Neal Moritz-produced Disney comedy "Field Trip" and the Bob Cooper-produced "Man in Uniform" at New Line.

James will next be seen in the comedy "Grilled," and his voice will be heard in the upcoming animated features "Monster House" and "The Barnyard."

Well, that's what they say now, but we'll have to wait to see how the next season goes in terms of ratings and everything to determine if the 8th season really will be the last.

I hope Season 8 is not the last season of the show because it is one of my favorites, if not my favorite. I hope they at least have a season 9.

Although "The King of Queens" is one of my favorite shows, I'd be okay with it ending next year. I mean, 8 seasons is a long time and I bet they're running out of ideas. Besides, I'd rather they just end the show than CBS cancel it, without a finale. They're all probably ready to move on.

I don't want it to end yet. Call me selfish but I'm still dealing with Friends and Frasier. Not to mention Raymond this year. Give me a couple of more years, PLEASE!

I feel the exact same way, but I wouldn't be surprised if the 8th season was the last.

Although I'm sad to see KoQ possibly finish off this season, at least the studios see some value in Kevin James. So he'll at least have a movie career after the show ends. Unlike his buddy Raymond.

I am looking forward to that movie they've done together, Grilled. I really enjoyed the cross-over episodes when they each guest starred in each other's shows.

I agree that we should see what happens next year.It is awhile away and I really don't need to find out long ahead of time that one my shows I watch will maybe end next year especially after losing Dead like Me,North Shore,Tru Calling,Possibly Summerland after it completes the rest of S2 and American dreams in one year and a matter of a few months apart. I love the show, and season 7 was very funny, but if it ends next year i'll be okay with it mainly because the show has never had a long running storyline.., as long as they have a decent series finale....

unlike becker, which got canceled the day after my birthday last year
