Default Will Britney Spears be here 20 years from now?

What do you really think of Brittney Spears? Be honest about it. Do you think she'll be still famous 20 years from now? Or just a memory. Her latest song is in the top ten,but I really don't care for her, I used to like her when she was a ( so called) good girl. Famous people does that they will be out of the spotlight for a while then there everywhere.I really don't think she will be around in 20 years from now, just a memory, our kids, kids, will be saying who is she?

Of course she will! She will be working at Wendy's after her her twelfth divorce, this time from Tommy Lee. VH-1's Behind the Music may be calling.

I'm surprsed that Britney is still here in 2005 to be quite honest. If you had asked me in 1999 if people would still be talking about Britney six years later I would have not believed it. I remember back in '99 and 2000 how she was being compared to 80's pop stars like Tiffany and Debbie Gibson, but Britney's career has lasted longer then either of those two. I've never liked her music, but back in '99 Brit seemed to be a good kid where as now she seems like a freak of nature. Still, many people still like Britney. Sure she may not be selling the amount of albums that she once did, but she is still selling quite a few. Britney is also really good at keeping herself in the public eye, and Americans are obsessed with the rich and famous. As long as Britney can keep her sorry self in the spotlight, she is going to be around for a long time. Britney is as popular as ever, where as most of America has long forgotten about Christina Augulira.

I don't think Britney will still be famous 20 years from now. I don't think she'll have the career longevity as Madonna. I'm not even sure why I think that. Just my gut instinct.

I think the difference is that Madonna had the music to back up the controversy. She did put a lot into the music as her career progressed. Britney has had a few memorable songs, but considering how long she's been out and how famous she is, it's not enough to live up to the hype.

probably not, but i think she'll be remembered. even though i know people are going to blow up/laugh at me for saying that. well suck it. it's what i think. if people don't remember her when they think of music from this generation, then whom will they think of?

Oh Janice - SURE she will!! She'll be famous for having 8 husbands, 20 live-in affairs, 15 kids all having different fathers, and then there will be her surgery for lung cancer and her rehab stints. She'll be famous alrighty!!! As a matter of fact, I have an "in" with the editors of People and they provided me with a photo of her they plan to use for their 45th Anniversary Issue - here it is:

Everything I've heard from Madonna, including her most recent stuff, is a hideous crime against humanity. She never had good music to back up her controversy, because she is a disco/hip-hop MTV star and MTV disco/hip-hop is always bad. And hers is worse! She would have been laughed off the stage at Monterey or Woodstock in the sixties, but in our age, style always trumps musical substance.

Oh, yeah, Britney What will she be doing in twenty years? Tahoe.

Even critics who detested Madonna in 1985 at least like the Ray Of Light and Like A Prayer albums. I know a lot of people who dislike Madonna, but most of them still would say they think she's improved and matured with age.

Seriously, as much as you hate Madonna, you honestly don't think she's come a long way from rolling around the stage in a wedding dress at the 1984 VMA's?

Britney's six years into her career and she hasn't progressed one bit. The music she's making now is no different than what she was doing in 1999. Whereas six years into Madonna's career, she had added personal elements and religion and everything else into the blender.

I know you hate Madonna, but I do think you're a tad too harsh on her. Most critics who derided her during Like A Virgin have changed their tune on her, why can't you? If you honestly think anything off American Life or Music would've fit on Like A Virgin, you're just blinded by anti-Madonna bias, she HAS changed. Unlike most dance-pop "divas", she actually does put effort into her music, and you can't say she doesn't because of the crap she recorded 20 years ago. I am waiting for Britney to do a song that actually has meaning like Promise To Try or In This Life or Drowned World.

sad thing is, a DJ actually played Oops and Baby One More Time side by side.... THEY'RE THE SAME SONG. Exactly the same length, same tempo, etc...

Forget Dylan and The Beatles, Britney's the real deal.
