does anyone know the name and/or year of this episode:
i don't remember too much about it but norton and ralph were in a building (maybe a hotel) that jackie gleason was staying at. each time ralph would get in the elevator and go upstairs, jackie gleason would come down and norton would see him. when ralph returned, of course, gleason was gone. help? njf |

I believe this was one of the color episodes that you can catch on the Good Life network. From the 60's. Alice ended up giving the real Jackie Gleason her Pizza recipe that Jackie loved. I'm a little vague on this but I hope it helps. Thank You.

thanks to you, i found it:
March 18, 1967: Ralph is asked to invite his celebrity friend that he always brags about, Jackie Gleason, to the annual Raccoons dance. In desperation, Ralph & Ed go over to the hotel that Gleason is staying to try to get him to come. Ralph gets to speak to Carney and Ed gets to speak to Gleason but in the confusion, nobody is invited to the dance. Alice promises Gleason the recipe for her anchovy pizza and he shows up at the dance. are these available on DVD? how to they compare to the ones from the 50s? thanks! |

I remember watching them as a kid. Entertaining and still funny, but just starting to go downhill. Good Life network is up in the Digital tier of Time Warner. Even as a kid I thought that Sheila McCrae was beautiful, as was her daughter Meredith, who has now passed on. Cancer or something. God Bless.
