In the episode when everyone thought Topanga was pregnant, Feeny says, "My wife heard it..." My sister and I guessed he meant the Dean. Other than that, I can only speculate that either a) The writers decided she was a weak character and neither her nor Feeny needed to be focused on (if you recall in the later episodes since no one was living at home except Morgan and the baby, Mr. Feeny was a much minor character than he was when he they lived at home.) or b) Something happened and the actress didn't want to come back. Or it could be something else. But generally that's what tends to happen.

I didn't know that he was married until I saw the episode where they thought Topanga was pregnaunt and it was mentioned.

that was the last episode of the season the one where TOPANGAS parents tell
her they are separated and she begins to doubt her and cory's relationship

That was pretty weird how they just dropped that storyline. I mean they've dropped characters and storylines before and made some major goofs in the earlier seasons- mainly things relating to Shawn's family- but nothing that big towards the end.

That's so neat that she's his real life wife...they should have used her more. I liked them as a couple. It was nice to see Feeny happy.
