Is anyone here an active user of either the new Napster or iTunes? I only recently got a taste of both after doing a pc upgrade (I was still using Windows ME, finally got XP. Couldn't access either service through ME.) and getting a high speed connection. (No more dial-up!)
Anyway, they both seem decent though they both have a loooong way to go in providing as much access to all the music I'd want. I've searched for a lot of songs with no results. They should really concentrate on steering people towards their service and away from free sites with reasons other than the threat of a subpoena. I've used Kazaa, Audiogalaxy and of course the old napster in the past. These days I primarily use Winmx, though I still don't always find what I'm looking for. So the questions are: do you use the new Napster and/or iTunes? Likes/dislikes? Do you have a preference between them? What (free) file sharing site is most reliable? |

I used Bearshare. It has tons of songs that I don't get to hear or songs that I haven't listened to on the radio for a long time. I tried to eliminated the video clips that I don't get to download because of pornography. I decided to use Family Filter to block the porn clips from Bearshare. File sharing on Bearshare is better than Limewire. I used to have Kazaa Lite and Audiogalaxy on my computer, but now it's gone. Bearshare is better.

I use Limewire. Not for nothing, but if theres only one song I like buy a certain band/artist, Im not going to waste my money on the CD.

We've all heard the arguments about downloading music..
I can honestly say yes I download a song or two from time to time but only to sample or if I want a single song, case inpoint, I'm not gonna pay full price for an album for one song. |

Just today I downloaded Limewire. I'd never used it before. So far, I like it alot. I'm finding alot of stuff I'm looking for and plan on using it until I fear the record companies will come after me.

Love Bearshare. Find almost anything on it and loads of versions of the same song.

This is how great Limewire is: I just downloaded not one, but two songs by Al Corley, the original Steven from Dynasty. If that isn't greatness, I don't know what is.

I'm downloading a bunch of obscure 80s top 40 stuff (Joboxers, C ock Robin) that aren't available on the pay sites anyway, so I'll be sticking with Limewire for a while. |
