Default Ever noticed how Lionel was seen less and less once George Jefferson made his

appearance on All in the Family? This decreased screen time for Mike Evans also carried over to the Jeffersons in season 1 which led to his abrupt departure. So I guess what I'm trying to say is Sherman Hemsley stole the spotlight from Mike Evans-lol

George was mentioned in that xmas episode.

was that because they was searching for the right actor to play George Jefferson?

I like Henry Jefferson and his views about Jesus and Santa.

Who said they weren't black?

Yup - they were still looking for the "perfect" George so they used Henry until he was found in the 4th season. I liked Henry too though - especially the episode where he and Archie blow raspberries at each other - they both must have been soaked after doing that scene!

I missed Lionel - BADLY!! I loved the way he would play Archie. I really liked Mike Evans and thought he'd go on to bigger and better things. I never liked the second Lionel at all (on The Jeffersons).

He's right about Jesus though - he was an Ethiopean Jew. Chances are is WAS black. Its just been the white historians that made him white.

No wait - maybe that was Michael Jackson!

me too.

I always get a kick out of that.

In a previous episode, Archie's TV was broken and Loinel tried to fix his tv.

Loinel acted he was a slave for Archie. LOL

Then a jewish tv repair man stop by.

He told Archie that he will fix it on Monday because he wanted to go to church AND he don't work in the evening at all.

Archie didn't like that one bit.

they went to Kelsey's bar to see him on the CBS NEWS.

suddenly, Richard Nixon INTERUPTED the news!

That ticked Archie off big time.

Later at home, Lionel stop by to tease Archie about being Richard Nixon!

that was a funny episode.

the one and only Dan Rather.

Season 2......Episode 12 - the Man In The Street

I didn't know that Dan was in a episode.

I figured it will be some ACTOR playing a news reporter.

I was quite surpised.

Yeah, that was a good one for sure. I also liked it when Lionel pulls Archie's leg by telling him he was going to be an "EEElectrical Engineer!"

I agree! I've recently heard and read about the married thing too. I hadn't heard about a baby. I'm starting to think that Mary Magdonlin (sp?) wasn't a hooker, but had a disease which Jesus cured. They fell in love and either did marry, or were at least a couple. It makes sense her staying with Mary (the Madonna) until the end came. Also, in the painting of the Last Supper, the figure to the left of Christ looks suspiciously female - being Mary. I don't know what the big deal is they're making if Jesus had been married. No reason you can't take a mate but also serve God.

re: the MJ joke - thx! Love taking a shot at him every chance I can get.

Actually, they wanted Sherman Hemsley all along, but he was unavailable. They kept the spot open for him until he was available.
