Listen Up is cancelled after one season, I am surprised it made it that long.

I'm surprised it's cancelled, they must really think the comedy pilots will do well as Listen Up, al though not a critic's pick, did fairly well. And with the already departure of Everybody Loves Raymond, it's surprising they wouldn't keep a comedy that al though not a ratings winner, did provide respectible numbers.

That was my bet. I tried the first ep and just found nothing about it to hold my interest.

I liked it at first, but the dumb son, the harridan daughter, and the Father-Knows-Least/More-Attractive-and-Savvy-Mother bit wore thin. I checked out around February. I knew it was doomed when CBS started airing "Raymond" reruns in its timeslot. And of course, there was that ol' curse.
The sitcom was set in Philadelphia. Philadelphia sitcoms rarely last long. Ha ha! I am kidding, of course. I mean the Seinfeld alumnus curse, natch. Jason Alexander may have lasted a full season on his own show, and that may make him the hitmaker among Jerry Seinfeld's ex-co-stars, relatively speaking, but this show can only be viewed as a failure. I don't think the Kleinmans are a family I'd want over for dinner. |

Last I saw of Jason Alexander, he was doing a car commercial with fellow hasbeen Lee Iacooca. There you have it - even Jason Alexander doesn't take himself seriously anymore!
