Here's a copy of the e-mail I sent to ABC earlier. I know it won't do any good, but I actually feel better now that I sent it.

Hello,

I just had to write you and express how upset I am over your decision to cancel "8 Simple Rules". I think you really made the show go downhill moving it to Friday's, and I think if you moved it to another night it would do so much better. It's probably the only show on ABC that I watched, and now that you have canceled it, I guess I am through with ABC. I think you are making a big mistake by choosing to cancel this show, and I wish you would reconsider your decision. You have a lot of people upset about this, and everyone I have talked to has said they will quit watching ABC unless you put this show back on the air. It's probably the only good, clean, family show on your network, and I think John Ritter would be very upset at how you have treated this show by canceling it. I know many of us would like to see this show continue and see what happens to these characters.

I hope you reconsider, because if "8 Simple Rules" is not on the fall schedule, you have lost yourselves MANY viewers.

Very good letter.

If I were you I would copy and send that letter to these two people. These are the two that are the most responsible for canceling 8SR :

I encourage everyone to e-mail them as well. It probably won't do any good, but at least they will know there are many people who would like to see this show return.

I told them that they made a mistake by taking it off air. And that if they don't renew it, they should at least give the re-runs to ABC Family or something. Because if they don't re-new it or give the re-runs to another channel, then it's a loose-loose situation for us fans. They had that Mary-kate and Ashley show Two of a Kind on for only one season and ABC Family showed their re-runs. They should do the same for 8 Simple Rules.
I hope that in a few years they will do that.
