Default Favorite Scream Queen

I'm definitely going with Heather Langenkamp from A Nightmare On Elm Street. The original Nightmare is by far my favorite of these films and the character of Nancy was the most intelligent and resourceful of all the "Scream Queens." I never was able to get into the Scream films and I felt that I Know What You Did Last Summer was simply terrible. I really admire Halloween, but I haven't seen it in quite a while and there are other John Carpenter films that I perfer (The Fog and Christine would probably be the creem of the crop). The Jamie Lee Curtis character of Laurie is Halloween did her best to fight back agianst Michael Meyers, but it was really Dr. Loomis that saved her in the end. Alice (Adrianne King) in Friday The 13th really just got lucky. Let's admit it, Mrs. Voorhees was a weak middle aged woman that only got the better of her victims by surprising them. Nancy had her whole attack planed out and was more then prepared for Freddy. Wes Craven said that when he was writing Nightmare that he wanted Nancy to be "stronger" then most females in horror movies had been in the past as a role model for his young daughter. He also wanted to give a girl the upper hand after all he put Mary and her friend through in The Last House On The Left.

I'm also going with Heather. She was great in the original, and I also loved her in New Nightmare.

Jamie Lee. She'll always be the original scream queen for me.

New Nightmare is really good. I hated how after beating Freddy in the original, they brought Heather back just so she could die in Part 3. And the way she was killed was really lame too.

I went with Jamie Lee

it's funny how all of the scream queens had at least some success outside of the horror genre, except for Adrienne King. It's almost as if Jason wasn't just killing her character 5 mins into Friday The 13th Pt. 2, but he also killed her career too.

True, but Kevin Bacon did pretty well for himself after Friday The 13th. Whether or not that is a good thing I don't know.

I thought that there would be a lot of votes for both Jennifer Love Hewitt and Neve Campbell do to how popular the Scream trilogy and I Know What You Did Last Summer are. I'm happy to be wrong. I'm glad that Heather is doing so well, I thoght Jamie Lee would kill her (so to speak).

Here is my copy of a replica of the original Nightmare theatrical poster and a picture that I have of Heather and Robert Englund taken around the time Wes Craven's New Nigtmare was released.

I dunno if anyone else has a Six Flags near them, but I have one near me, and they also have the promos with the elderly dancing man.... that's exactly what Freddy looks like in that picture in the suit next to Heather
