What did everyone think? It's hard to imagine that it's all over now. It just seemed like one of those shows that would always be there. It ended just the way I imagined it would. I knew they would all be together talking/arguing at the same time. I couldn't see it going out any other way. I must admit I did get a scare with the hospital scene! I thought that person could have been right about Ray dying. Thank God that didn't happen. It would have been a horrible way to end the show. Overall, I liked it, but Monday nights will never be the same.

it's truly the end of an era tonight. And they did it well. I agree with you, I never imagined the show ending any other way than with them fighting. In fact, if you are a Mama's Family fan, I always pictured it ending like that. In a way, it did. The main cast members sitting around the kitchen table arguing. It was a great finale though. Simple, yet sentimental, but not overly sad or dramatic. It didn't try to do anyting different or special, it was just another episode. That's the best way to go out.

I admit, that I thought Raymond was going to die - but only for a second. That would be something to kill him off in the 11th minute of the episode. It was nice to see Robert ready to barge back there, thinking he could save Raymond. Once the final scene started I figured it would fade out, like it did. Although at the beginning of the episode, I thought, somehow it would end with Robert, once again, uttering the line "Everybody Loves Raymond".
For not having an actual "Last episode" plot, I thought it was very good. Marie jumping into bed with Raymond and Debra was hilarious. |

I liked it. The best scene was when Ray and Debra were about to have sex and Marie runs in and starts kissing Ray. That was hilarious.

From Zap2It!!!
The series finale of "Everybody Loves Raymond" drew nearly 32.2 million viewers in early ratings estimates, helping to pave the way for a Monday night CBS rout. CBS won big in the 9 p.m. hour with the "Raymond" finale (19.7/29) and "Two and a Half Men" (15.2/22). ABC's "Bachelor" had a 6.9/10, just ahead of the 6.8/10 for FOX's "24." NBC's "Hercules" was fourth. On The WB, "Everwood" was fifth, narrowly beating the 2.8/4 averaged by "Girlfriends" and "Half & Half" on UPN. |

Not bad ratings. I wasn't expecting 40 million, but I thought it would be closer to Frasier's 26 million, but it was slightly higher at 32 million. Should be #1 for the week unless the DH cliff-hanger season finale scores more.

I liked when Marie hits Robert in the forehead with the spoon. True to form 'til the end.

I thought they did a very good job but will admit I
watched that beginning with a lot of trepidation because it seemed they were setting up the "death" episode. And that would leave such a bad taste that it would effect the feel of the whole series. The show is more than hard-nosed enough already. Funny but hard to take sometimes. So giving the characters, and the fans, some honest and yet hard to admit tenderness was a great move. And gives all the shows a better feel. It takes some sting out of the hardest shows and improves the whole series. And they did it without getting sloppy or major changes. Their lives just go on as before, but with a slightly nicer feeling that was well earned and probably well needed. And yet it fits in with the rest of show. They did a damn good job. |

I didn't really like it. As good as this show was, I thought the writers could've come up with something better.

And yeah, as they faded out in the kitchen scene, I really thought you'd hear Robert's voice over the others saying, Everybody loves Raymond!! Oh well |
