Mr. Furley was mean at first. He wanted to evict the roomates. He was like Roper at first, and then they mellowed him out and gave him his own identity.
Second, Chrissy was more stupid as hell in this season! Damn, she got dumber in this season 4. They should gave nicknamed her, "Dumb and Dumber!" |

I've noticed that too about Furley. He was mean at first, but then after season 5, he become more of a friend to the trio.
As for Chrissy, she was at her dumbest in season 4, but I thought she was at her funniest

It was good planning on the part of the writers. When Ralph first met the trio, he just treated them as he would any other paying customers in the building. But they eventually got to know each other, and their friendship grew from there. Just like it would have if this was a real life situation.
Chrissy: Yeah, they screwed her character up really badly. I read she was the fan favorite of the show (maybe next to Jack). The majority of the fans really liked Chrissy for her stupidity, so they just increased it as the series went on. I think her leaving the show was a blessing in the disguise because of this. I hated what her character had become. I didn't like Cindy either. Terri finally gave the show a solid third character again (like Chrissy was for the first few seasons). It's all about opinons. I like the semi-realistic, funny characters. They just went overboard with Chrissy's character. Nobody should be that dumb. Even if it is a comedy. |

If Suzanne stuck around for a fifth or sixth season, imagine how dumb Chrissy would get. Every season from 1-4 she became dumber.

In the book, Don Knotts said that in one episode, they wrote out Chrissy at last minute and gave these HILARIOUS lines to Furley, and from then on, he was a lot funnier!!
I didn't like the way Chrissy acted in season 4. I liked it a lot better in the first two seasons. She was a little more calm. But in the 4th season, it seemed like Suzanne was trying too hard to be funny. |
