Default Back With Mom

Back With Mom
ABC Sitcom
Friday 8:00pm

Katey Sagal plays Pam Carrington-Malone, an upper-middle class working wife and mother. Pam is a mom to her two oldest daughter, Elise (Pratt) and Brooke (Fox), who are from a previous marriage from her past. Elise is a 19 year old community college student going for cosmetology. Brooke is a 17 year old junior in high school. Now, after their divorced-then-single father committed suicide (after a messy breakup with longtime girlfriend), Elise and Brooke decide to go live with their mom, Pam, who now is remarried and has a daughter with her new hubby. Pam's new hubby, Mike (Meloni) welcomes the girls without question, yet wants them to check their attitudes at the door. Pam and Mike's 11 year old daughter, Caity (Fanning) loves the idea of having older sisters to look up to. Elise and Brooke are a tad bit shallow, stuck up, conceited, and snotty (not to mention-bitchy as well). Yet that is all about to change when they learn their loving dad killed himself.

CAST:
Katey Sagal as Pamela "Pam" Carrington-Malone
Christopher Meloni as Michael "Mike" Malone
Keri Lynn Pratt as Elise Carrington

Default Episodes

Episodes

Ep1: Pilot Episode:
20-year-old Elise and 17-year-old Brooke wake up one morning to find out that their dad committed suicide late the night before, due to a harsh breakup with his longtime girlfriend. Elise and Brooke freak and call Pam to inform her on their dad's death, resulting in Pam flying there to be with her daughters at her ex's funeral.

Ep2: Do You Want To?:
Elise and Brooke are asked to leave their Minnesota home and move in with Pam and her new family in their Denver home. The girls decide to relocate and move in with their mom, stepdad, and stepsister. Pam, Mike, and Caity decide to take the girls out to "celebrate" their "new family". Yet both girls are still angry with their dad for being so selfish and killing himself.

Ep3: Little Sis, Big Sis:
Their first days of school are nearing. An anxiety-ridden Brooke is unsure if she can make all new friends. Caity offers some helpful and heartfelt advice to her new big sister. Elise learns her credits from back in Minnesota won't transfer to Colorado-so she freaks out and panicks-until Mike offers a helpful hand and tries his best to calm her down and put her at ease.Pam oversees all of this and is thrilled to death.

Ep4: Cute Neighbor Boy:
Brooke meets the cute neighbor boy (who is in her age and goes to same school), Danny Shepperd (David Gallagher). Danny and Brooke make plans to go to the mall together later. Elise and Pam are glad to see that Brooke has found a friend--a potential boyfriend (after seeing how much they flirt with each other). Mike becomes frustrated when he is stumped and can't help Caity with her homework.

Ep5: Attitude Adjustment:
Mike is fed up with Brooke's bitchy attitude especially when Mike forbids her from seeing Danny, after learning that Danny's brother was arrested for drug possession. Pam catchs Brooke sneaking out to see Danny, and says nothing (b/c she feels Danny isn't like his brother). Mike gets wind of Pam knowing she snuck out and is angry. Pam and Mike have a chat, resulting in Mike letting Brooke see Danny, as long as she shows Mike some respect.

Ep6: Finding A Job:
Elise has no luck finding a job, until Mike offers her a job as secretary at his law firm. She accepts graciously. Caity wants to sleepover at a friend's house, her parents let her--until they find out Caity recieved a C on a test (that they knew she was capable of getting an A on). Turns out, Caity just guessed in order to be done with the test first, so she could go outside for recess.

Ep7: Mom's Mom:
Pam's widowed romance-novelist mother, Karen (Dixie Carter) pays a visit to spend time with her daughter, son-in-law, and three granddaughters. Karen decides to stay a whole week instead of a weekend as planned, driving Pam and Mike insane. Elise and Brooke become hooked on Karen's newest romance novel, after Karen gives Pam, Mike, Elise, and Brooke each a copy (not one for Caity, because she's only 11).

Ep8: Called To A Teacher:
Caity's teacher, Ms. LeClair (Cynthia Nixon) calls Pam and Mike to have a meeting with her to talk about Caity misbehaving in class. Caity's parents are shocked by Caity acting up in class due to her good student reputation. Truth is Caity was trying to impress the class clown, Mikey, whom she has a crush on. Elise does some research, and buys some "old but good" romance novels written by her grandmother. Elise realizes Karen is her inspiration, that will inspire her to go into writing.

Ep9: All Grown Up Now:
Caity gets her period. Mike is uncomfortable being around the women in his life when they start talking about Caity and her period. To celebrate the good news, Pam, Elise, Brooke, and Caity go for a girls weekend to a ritzy spa resort. Mike ends up enjoying the time alone around the house.

Ep10: Homecoming:
Brooke and Danny prepare and go to the school's homecoming dance. They end up having a great time and end up going to an after-party, where they decide to "top the night off" by having sex (which is their both first-times). Meanwhile, Pam and Mike go out and celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary by going to a fancy restuarant-leaving Elise to watch over ("not babysit") Caity for the night.
